In memory of William V. Powell, Jr., who passed away on March 18, 2009

Every day I think of my father even though March 18^th is the day that we celebrate his homegoing. I recall the last day that we spent together—it was only a few days before his passing. It was one of the best days of our life even though I didn’t know that it would be our last. We did nothing special other than spend time with each other while having lunch and discussing his plans for the future and enjoying our mutual company. And that’s what makes it so special; in his last day with me he gave me the gift of his love and time that is a wonderful, lasting memory of our relationship. Much has been said since his passing in regard to how good a man he was, but for his son, the memory of our last day with his fatherly affection will be cherished and remembered daily for the rest of my life.
