Moore, Tawana Denise – age 50, slept away on November 5, 2012 at Fort Sanders Regional Hospital. She was a graduate of Austin East High School, Class of 1980 and Pellissippi State Community College, Class of 2005. For over 19 years, Tawana was employed as a Head Start Instructor with Knox County Schools. She attended Greater Warner Tabernacle AME Zion Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Phillip Moore, father, William Foster Clemons, sister, Pamela Bonner, brother, Gregory “McGoo” Jack and grandparents, Horace (Anne) Thompson and Katherine Steel. She is survived by her devoted children: Meticia (Jed) Jackson, GA and Phillip Moore II; granddaughter, Camille Jackson; loving mother, Evelyn (Danny) Coats; sisters: Carmen Clemons, Deanna Keeter and JoAnn Glenn, also caregiver; brothers, William Clemons and Todd Jack; devoted friends: Jacqueline Clarke, VA, Norman Willis and AEHS, Class of 1980; a host of relatives and friends.A special thank you to Thompson Cancer Center and Dr. J. Clarke, MD. On Saturday, November 10, 2012, the family will receive friends at Overcoming Believers Church, 2500 E. Fifth Avenue from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, with the funeral to follow. Pastor Daryl Arnold officiating. Interment will follow the service at Highland South Memorial Park where a full dove release will conclude the service.

Miller Rodney, age 38 of Knoxville, departed this life on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at UT Medical Center. He was  preceded in death by Mother, Joyce Miller. Survived by Father, Glenn “Lefty” Miller; children, Dushawn, Jada, Trinity and Arianna; sister, Valarie (Efferem) Williams of Florida; niece, Joycelyn; nephew, Joshua; devoted grandmother, Velder Humphrey; godmother, Bernice Walton. Family will receive friends on Thursday, November 8, 2012 from 6-6:30 PM with funeral to follow at Unity Mortuary Chapel. Interment to be held on Friday, November 9, 2012 at 10 AM at Mt. Olive Cemetery on Maryville Pike with service concluding with full dove release. Family will gather at 2728 Woodbine Ave.

Slay Alisha A. – 25 passed on to live with her heavenly father on Friday, November 2, 2012. Preceded in death by her sister, Maelene Slay, grandmother, Daisy Slay and cousin, John Word. She leaves to cherish her memories: mother, Ann Slay; siblings, Steven (Diedrea) Allen, Timothy Allen, Princess (Eugene) Brown, and Charma Allen; extended family, Kari Muncey and Bertie McClemore. Family will gather at Unity Mortuary on Monday, November 5, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. to precede to Lynnhurst Cemetery for a 2:00 p.m. graveside service where a full dove release will conclude the service.
