George Claxton Jackson – departed this life on November 28, 2012 at University of Tennessee Memorial Hospital in Knoxville, Tennessee. He was born on July 27, 1943 in Birmingham, Alabama. He was employed with Connecticut General Life Insurance Company and the TVA George was preceded in death by his father, James Abraham Jackson, Sr.; brother, James Abraham Jackson, Jr.; son, Gary Edmond Jackson; nephew, Derrek Anthony Jackson; brother-in-law Albert Montgomery, Jr. George leaves to cherish his memories and celebrate his life, a devoted wife Sandra Jackson;  sons Steven Jackson (Tiffany) and Cedric Jackson (Audrey);  daughters, KaVonna Davis and LaRosia Carrington (Roger); mother, Ernestine Jackson; sister, Jacquilyn Franklin (Carl); brother, Eugene Jackson (Marion); 8 grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law; 2 brothers-in-law; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and a special circle of friends Special thanks to Palliative Care, Dr. Brewer and the Nursing Staff of 7 South at the University of Tennessee Memorial Hospital. Family will receive friends on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 11 AM until 12 noon with funeral to follow at Unity Mortuary Chapel. Interment to follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery. Service to conclude with full-dove release. Family will receive friends at 2644 Woodbine Avenue.
