Kemp, Walter Jr. – born October 8, 1947 in Knoxville, Tennessee to the union of Mildred and Walter Kemp, Sr. He attended Beardsley Jr. High and Austin High School. He served in the US Marine Corp, 2^nd Division 1^st Platoon with medals and honors. After 14 years, he retired from Knox County School System. Preceded in death by parents, two brothers, one sister and a devoted friend. Survived by his daughters: Connie, Tonya, Wendy (Vernon) and Kerri (Mac); sons, Alan and LaQuan; three grandchildren; one great granddaughter; sisters: Sheila (Charles) and Vicky (Gregory); brother, James; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with the funeral service to follow at Unity Mortuary Chapel. Pastor Steve Simpson o fficiating. Interment to immediately follow at Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, John Sevier Hwy.
