Captain Timothy Shaun Anderson

Anderson, Captain Timothy Shaun.– born September 28, 1969 in Knoxville, Tennessee, returned to his Heavenly Father on April 16, 2011 at Norton Brownsboro hospital in Louisville, Kentucky after a long courageous battle with lymphoma.

He was a devoted Christian, husband, father, son, grandson, brother, Captain, nephew, cousin and friend…affectionately known as Daddy, Tim & T.A.

Captain Anderson received his high school diploma from Holston High School in 1987, his Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Saint Leo University and two Master of Art degrees in Human Resources Development and Human Resources Management from Webster University.

Captain Timothy S. Anderson ended his journey actively and proudly serving his country for twenty years in the United States Army.  During his service, Captain Anderson strove for excellence leading with strength, wisdom, humility and integrity.   As he served, he received various certifications, accommodations and recognitions; some of which include Combat Medical Badge, Non Article 5 NATO Medal for Service with NATO in relation to ISAF Operation during the period, the Army Commendation Medal, The Bronze Star Medal and many others.

Tim, a member of Payne Avenue Baptist Church, accepted Christ at a young age and was baptized in his early twenties.  No matter where he was in the world he made sure that his light was shining for Jesus.

Tim is preceded in death by great grandfather, William Anderson; grandfathers Melvin Anderson, and Edward Belvins; grandmother, Willie Myers; infant sister, Nicole Anderson; and mother-in law, Roberta McPherson Davidson.

He leaves to carry on his legacy his beloved wife, Johnette Davidson-Anderson; daughters, Brionna and Tyra; sons, Timothy and Shaun.  He also leaves to cherish his memory; father, Vernon Anderson, Sr.; mother, Belinda Anderson, brothers, Vernon (Barbara) Anderson of Knoxville, TN; Byron (Dorothy) Anderson  of  San Antonio, TX; grandmother Beulah Blevins of Washington, DC ; father-in-law, John (Lisa) Davidson;  uncles and aunts; Betty Martin, Charles (Bertha) Myers, John (Pam) Myers, James (Jane) Myers all of Knoxville, TN, Deloris Myers of Tampa, FL, Calister Hamlett of Knoxville, TN, LeVerne Anderson; his aunt who was like a sister; Sherrie (Barry) Green of Baltimore, MD and sister in-law, Valerie Davis of Knoxville, TN and a host of  nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  

Visitation will be Saturday, April 23, 2011 from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. followed by funeral service at Payne Avenue Baptist Church, 2714 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd.  Interment will be Monday April 25, 2011 at Tennessee State Veterans’ Cemetery, 5901 Lyons View Pike Knoxville.  Service will conclude with full military honors and a full dove release.
