Alvina Lynne Martin

Alvina Lynne Martin age 80 of Knoxville, TN  born September 25, 1935, went to be with her Savior on June 02, 2016 at Tennova Hospice. She was a dedicated member of Cherry Street Church of God. Mrs. Martin retired from the State, East Tennessee Chest Diseased Hospital and Knox County Health Department as an X-ray Technician of 44 years. Preceded in death by parents, Alvin and Louise Brown; sister, Edna Brown. Survived by: devoted husband of 62 years, Emanuel Martin, Jr.; son, Emanuel III (Anita) of Chattanooga, TN; daughters, Melodie (Paul) Daniels of Rockford , TN, Marquetta (Fredrick) Waters of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Alishea Thompson, Isaiah Waters, Danielle Daniels and Shantel ( Trailon) Johnson; great-grandchildren, Zion and Amiya Thompson; sisters, Patricia Benton of Dayton, OH, Wanda (John) Buffington of Springfield, OH , Waneeta (Frenchie) Kyle of Jeffersonville, IN and Estelle (Herman) Smith of Athens, GA; sisters-in-law, Roberta Martin and Brenda Beal of Knoxville, TN, Ella Hughes and Pauline (Louis) Troutman of  Lemon Grove, CA; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Family will receive friends on Thursday, June 9, 2016 from 11:00 -12:00 PM at Cherry Street Church of God, with the funeral to follow with Entombment at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Elder Eric Satterfield officiating and Bishop John Buffington Eulogist. A very special thanks to Holston Rehab and Tennova Hospice for their care. Family will receive friends at 2522 Wayland Ave., Knoxville, TN 37914. Services to conclude with full dove release.

    I am sorry for your loss. May you find peace and comfort during this time. I remember when your mom worked at KCHD a long time ago. She was a real nice woman. She will be missed

    I want to share my condolences with Marquetta and Roberta and the whole family, for the loss of Alvina. I have nothing but positive memories of her and all the great help she gave with caring for patients at the Health Department Primary Care Clinic over the years we worked there together. So sorry for your loss.
