Pastor-Elder David Williams, Jr. was born March 1, 1947 to the late David L. Williams and Minnie D. Kyle. He transitioned to his heavenly home on October 22, 2015. Pastor David Williams, Jr. was called to the ministry at a young age of 7 years old. When he got older at the age of 13 he accepted the LORD and was baptized under Pastor Gabriel of Tabernacle Baptist Church of Middlesboro, KY. Later on as he got older he answered the Lord’s calling and he joined Tabernacle of Praise Church, at that time under the leadership of Pastor Ricky Talley. It was there where he preached his first sermon. Later on he moved and joined Universal Church of Deliverance where he trained for many years under Bishop Dr. Allen Butler. After this, he was called to Pastor Hoop Creek Baptist Church. Then the LORD called him to Pastor Walking By Faith Church where he labored until the LORD called him home. He was employed at Browning Ferris, Incorporated for many years. He is preceded in death by sister, Gail Johnson, Mary Helen Gibson of Lexington, KY.; Brother, Willie B. Johnson of Florida.; Step-parents, Benjamin Johnson and Edna Williams; Grandparents, Bob and Carrie Williams, Andy and Sally Kyle and Anna Lee Mize; Great-grandparents, Wiley and Berdie Rodgers. He will be sadly missed by his loving and devoted wife of 42 years, Mildred. During this marriage they had 2 children son, Keith Williams, daughter, Amy Williams; 2 granddaughters, Alexis Williams and Angelica Barnett; Brothers, Robert Williams and Michael Williams both of Cleveland, Ohio, Terry Johnson of Knoxville, TN, Bill Johnson of Columbus, Georgia, Charles Richardson of Birmingham, Alabama; Sisters, Patricia (Lamar) Stevenson and Faith Williams both of Cleveland, Ohio, Carolyn Kyle of Lexington KY.; Special Uncle, Melvin J. Kyle, Sr.; Special aunt, Mary Robinson; Brother-in-laws, Rev. Dexter Jordan, John (Sona) Ford, Ralph (Vanessa) Ford, Kenneth Ford; Special Sister in law, Mary (Ronald) Davis, Sister-in-laws, Virginia (Randy) Hugley, Patricia (Bruce) Williams, Sharon (Paul) Jordan, Barbara Jordan; Special friend, Barbara Carter; a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family will receive friends Saturday, October 31, 2015 from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. with funeral services to follow at 2:00 p.m., Tabernacle Baptist Church with Pastor Charles Simpson officiating. Interment will be private.
