Elizabeth “Liz” Cox Kennebrew – peacefully departed this life at her home in Indianapolis, Indiana on May 7, 2014. She was born in Knoxville, Tennessee to the late Willie and Elizabeth Steward. Liz moved to Indianapolis, Indiana in 1970 and was employed with Kroger’s for 28 years. After her retirement she enjoyed time with her family. She loved watching good movies and soap operas, reading and playing card games on the computer. She’s preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Elizabeth Cox, her son, Robert C. Cox, brothers, Louis Cox, Walter Cox and Robert Cox; sister, Marion L. Williamson. She leaves to cherish her memories: her children, daughters, Sharon Cox and Lisa Kennebrew both of Indianapolis, Indiana, grandchildren to include Cory (Lady) Kennebrew, Knoxville, Tennessee, William Kennebrew, Monique Kennebrew, Shenise Cox, all of Indianapolis, Indiana, great grandchildren, Amare, Knoxville, Tennessee, Egypt, R’monii Kennebrew both of Indianapolis, Indiana, brother, Norman (Debbie Cox), Knoxville, Tennessee; devoted nieces, Sherry D. Sewell, Kim Cox and Elizabeth D. Cox, all of Knoxville, Tennessee, devoted nephews, Gregory (Donna) Williamson, James (Sherry) Williamson both of Knoxville, Tennessee; very devoted cousin, James Smith, former husband, William W. Kennebrew, Knoxville, Tennessee; devoted friends, Kay Jackson, Cecil Hunt and Eva Rowen; a host of family and friends.  The family will receive friends Saturday, May 17, 2014 from 12:00 until 12:30 pm with services to follow at Unity Mortuary Chapel. Rev.Churchill Moore, Sr. officiating.
