Alvelder Green Mynatt

Mynatt, Alvelder Green – age 91, of Knoxville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. She was born on May 5, 1922 in Fairfield County, SC to her parents, John and Essie Green. She was a faithful and dedicated member of New Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. Preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Mynatt, Sr., stepson, Ernest (Daisy) Mynatt, Jr., parents, brother, John David Green and sisters, Alberta Brown, Annie Cole, Ollie Mae Walls and Marie Green. She leaves to cherish her memory: daughters, Ernestine Russell of Lakewood, WA, Doris (John) Rodgers, Kathy Smith, Verna Mynatt and Deborah (Lee) Hardin, all of Knoxville; sons: Ernie (BJ) Mynatt, Oakley, CA, Norman (Claudette) Mynatt, Stone Mountain, GA, Dennis (Irma) Curtis, Vernon (Linda) and Donney Mynatt, all of Knoxville; grandchildren: Sherri and Wanda Russell, Normeka, Rashad, Brandon, Christopher, Jonathan, LeKesha, Javan, Vernon Jr., and William Mynatt, Phillip, Nikki and Monica Smith and Kristin White; several great grandchildren; sister, Lillie Ruth Crew of NJ; brothers, John Charles Green of NJ, Isaiah (Dorothy) Green of Hickory, NC and Moses (Lillie B.) Green of Longwood, FL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and  friends to include Lizzie Littlejohn, Evangelist Ruby Winton and Clara Robinson. On Thursday, November 15, 2012 at 1:30 p.m., the family will gather for a graveside service at Highland West Memorial Park, 4301 Sutherland Avenue, Pastor Reginald O. Butler, officiating and Pastor Michael McNair assisting. The family will assemble at 4428 Exemouth Drive. Prior to the service, Mrs. Mynatt can be publicly viewed on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 after 1:30 p.m. at Unity Mortuary Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to New Mt. Calvary Missionary Church, 1801 Eighth Avenue, Knoxville, TN  37917.
