I knew Dora from Bible Study Fellowship. She always had something insightful to say about what we were studying. She was always talking about taking care of her grandchildren and how important that was to her. I will miss her eventhough I know, without a shadow of a doubt, that she is in the arms of the Lord. My sympathy to all of the family.

    Dear Gwen and Family:

Those we love don’t go away, They walk beside us everyday,
    Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear.
May God Bless and strengthen you at this time.

    Gwen,
I pray that God’s grace will give you and your family comfort and peace at this difficult time. May you remember that those we love never die but leave on in our hearts and minds. If you need me I am only a call away.

Knoxville and Knox County has lost a wonderful lady with the passing of Dora Wilson. As the Assistant Principal of South-Doyle Middle School, I had the pleasure of working with Dora for several years. She was not only a beautiful lady and a dear friend, but she was an outstanding teacher. She truly had the best interest of the students in her heart, and she took many of them under her wings and made their educational experience greatly enriched. She also had a wonderful sense of humor, and she and I have had many a good laugh together–often laughing at something crazy one of us had done. My deepest sympathy goes to all of her family and her many friends. Since I retired several years ago, I have always received a Christmas card from her, and I will miss that, also. Know that my prayers are with her family. WHAT A LADY!!

To Family and Closest Friends of Dora Wilson. I will always remember “what a great friend”-Dora has been to me for the rest of my life. I met her on her doorstep in 1978-I believe to be exact.(1.) She has taken me into her confidence-innumerable–times.(2.)I to her as well.(3.)She has given me advice.(4.)I to her as well.(5.)Together, we even tried to “crack an unjust killing”.We couldn’t-but we certainly tried. We both knew-what really happened-we couldn’t prove it.In addition-I was threatened-to be jailed by law enforcement.(6.)She purchased insurance from me,mutual funds, real estate, made me a personal loan of $10,000@17%(I paid her back within a year.),referred my services to her friends and acquaintances many times,etc.(7.)She possessed an unending amount of “common sense”,thoughtfulfulness,”good vibes”,great-humor,valuable experience(she was no “idiot”!!)-She told you “who to trust”-“who not to trust”-you’d better listen-she-was- indelibly-unmistaken(with me at least)-concerning character judgement.(8.)Dora was a “Cornerstone”of leadership, self confidence, exemplifying the way “to be” for her family and friends.(9.)Dora’s-degree of honesty was totally straight-forward.If she did not agree with “what I thought “,etc.-She told me so and why she felt so,accordingly.(9.)I’m positive I can innumerate many more of her attributes-reflecting upon stories of experiences we’ve shared together. I was “very shaken” of her passing(as much so of any friend in my life).(10.)She was such a genuinely good, forgiving person.Dora was exceptional with “overlooking a person’s faults.”-(11.)I am very sorry-I was not at the “Service”-today.”Woody”-Please, you or another family member-call me @254-2681. I’d call you ,but I don’t know any of your phone#’s.-Sincerely,Duke Morton-and Family.
