Hardin, George Thomas – went home to be with the Lord April 18, 2012 at Methodist Medical Center. Mr. Hardin was born Dec. 14, 1950 in Byington, TN to Dan and Laura Jane Hardin. George was a self employed sub contractor in Knox County. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. George is preceded in death by his father, Dan Hardin and two brothers, Alfred and Danny Hardin. He leaves to cherish his memory: a devoted wife of 20 years, Alaidean Hardin; his beloved mother, Laura Jane Hardin; son, Danny Ballinger; stepchildren, Gary (Cindy) and Jimmy Johnson, both of Oak Ridge, Cassandra Johnson, Joe and Tasha McNair, all of Knoxville; 14 grandchildren: Kaneshia, Kierra, Alaina, Savanna, Monica and Jemeka Johnson, Kiante, Brianna and Tahj Cooper, Javion, Jaminquas and Jimmy Johnson, Jr., Taveyona and Zackiayah; great grandchildren, Jzyion Slater and Tyeiza Hunt; brother, James Franklin Hardin, Knoxville; aunts, Lois Sanders and Ruth Hardin, both of Knoxville; special cousins: Alfred Walker, Vaughn Turner, Mable Davis, Rose Mitchell, Gwen Patterson, Reggie Cotner, Brenda (James) Calloway and Diane Adams; special nieces and nephews, Ebony Castle, Jackie Hardin and Alfred Lee Hardin Jr.; brothers- in-law, Larry Johnson (Rhonda), Oak Ridge, Roy Johnson (Alice), West Memphis, AR, Thomas Moton (Gwen), Oak Ridge, Glen Dale Johnson, Marianna, AR, Robert Johnson, Oak Ridge and James Moton Jr., Marianna, AR; sisters- in-law, Tonya Hardin, Oak Ridge, Velma Carter, Lois Johnson, Dorothy Johnson (Andrew Hill), all of Marianna AR, and a host of other relatives and friends. On Thursday, April 26, 2012, the family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. with the funeral to follow at True Light Missionary Baptist Church at 3229 George Light Road, Knoxville, TN 37931. Pastor Darris Waters officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at Branch Hill Cemetery, Solway, TN. A full dove release will conclude the service.
