Smith, Claudia- born November 5, 1948, joined her heavenly father on April 26, 2011 at 4:50 a.m. at NHC Nursing Home.  Preceded in death by parents, Rev. Claude Smith and Velma Armstrong Smith.  Left to mourn her death: spouse, Willie Hammonds: devoted daughter, Miracle Hammonds; sister, Velma (Tony) Davis; stepmother, Grace Smith; two grandsons, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and cousins; a devoted niece, Tamora Davis and many friends and family.  Many thanks to NHC Nursing Home for the wonderful care and devotion given to our love one.  Thursday, April 28, 2011, viewing will take place at Unity Mortuary.  Graveside service will be Friday, April 29, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. The family will assemble at Unity Mortuary at 11:15 a.m. to proceed to Mount Olive Cemetery.  The service will conclude with a full dove release.

Bonnie L. Bradley

Bradley, Bonnie L. “Bonnie Boo”– passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2011.  Bonnie Boo, as she was affectionately known by all, was a member or the graduating class of Austin High, Class of 1956.  She retired from the Department of Education in Paterson, NJ. and was the Chairperson of the Lifetime Membership in the Missionary Society of the AME Zion Church.  Ms. Bradley was the President of the March Club at First AME Zion Church.  Those who preceded her in death were parents, Edward (Leanna) Miller, siblings and other relatives.  She leaves to cherish her memory: devoted children, Vickie Brown, Patricia Bradley of Smyrna, TN and Walter (Rebecca) Bradley, III of Indianapolis, IN; lifetime companion, Walter Bradley, Jr.; caregiver and devoted granddaughter, Michelle Bradley; other grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; sister, Charlotte Thompson; brothers, Marvin (Patricia) and David (Gwen) Miller; specials friends to include Sonya Armstrong, Ella Walker and Alzora Rader; a host of other relatives and friends too numerous to name.  A special thank you to UT Medical Center.  The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at First AME Zion Church.  Reverend Michael J. McNair officiating.  Interment will immediately follow the funeral at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.  The service will conclude with a full dove release.

Kenneth Marlon Williams

Williams, Kenneth Marlon, also known as “Marlon” or “One Way”, departed this life on April 26, 2011. Marlon was born on June 28, 1979 in Knoxville, TN to the union of Shelia Williams, NY and Kenneth Gore, NY. Marlon accepted Christ as his savior at an early age. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Levi (Mildred) Gary and Christopher (Minnie) Williams, cousins, Jarnesha Williams and Belinda Latham. He leaves to cherish his memory: one daughter, Jalane Rigsby; parents, Shelia Williams (biological mother) and Kenneth Gore (biological father); devoted grandparents, Johnny (daddy) and Carolyn (momma) Williams; five (devoted) sisters: Tonya (Marcus) Bly, Tomiko (Dre Moore), Shimada Williams, April Williams and Christina Williams; four brothers, Frank Williams, Jr. (TJ) Michael Williams (Sabrina Gallaher), Shawn Williams and Ellijah Cotton, NY; and Kenny Williams;  nieces and nephews, Joshua Williams, Te’Andre Moore, Codee Bly, Micah Williams, Katrina Gallaher and MaKenziee Kenndy; a host of great family residing in Tennessee, South Carolyn, North Carolina, Georgia, New York, New Jersey and Washington, DC and close friends of the family. The family will receive on Sunday, May 1, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at Unity Mortuary Chapel. Pastor Daryl W. Arnold officiating. Interment to follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery. Services to conclude with a full dove release.
