Romero, Nancy E. – age 73 went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at Ft. Sanders Regional. She was preceded in death by parents, Zelmar and Bernice Coker. She leaves to cherish her memory: son, Stephen Coker; daughters, Amber (Todd) Mathis and Angel (Tyrone) Bowman; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends, including the Open Door Church Family. The family will receive friends from 6:00-6:30 p.m. on Monday, March 14, 2011 at Open Door Church, 2806 Sherman Street, with the celebration of life to follow. Pastor Steve A. Simpson officiating.

Garrison, Katherine– age 77, departed peacefully on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at Mercy Hospice.  Ms. Garrison retired from MK Ferguson Oak Ridge.  Preceded in death by parents: Willie Garrison, Gladys Garrison and stepfather, Tommie Matthews; grandparents, Joe and Mary Etter; uncles, Walter and Rev. Carl Etter; granddaughter, Felicia McClendon.  Survivors are devoted son, Fred E. Garrison; grandson, Fredrick R. McClendon; granddaughter, Cherie A. McClendon; great-grandchildren Breanna Burns and Frank E. Burns, Jr. a special devoted friend, Mr. James Brown; two other devoted friends: Ms. Mary S. Gibson and Ms. Curtis Thomas and a host of relatives to include the Etter, Collins and Weaver families.  A heartfelt thank you to Mercy’s St. Mary Hospital and Mercy Residential Hospice.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. with the funeral to follow at Unity Mortuary Chapel.  Pastor Daryl Arnold officiating.  Interment will be Thursday, March 17, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Mount Olive Cemetery.  The service will conclude with a full dove release.
