William V. Powell, Jr.

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

In Memory of
MR. WILLIAM V. POWELL, JR.
June 29, 1930
March 18, 2009

If we could talk about the wonderful man he was, even the words that follow would not capture the essence that was William V. Powell, Jr. He was, quite simply, a beautiful man inside and out. He was incredibly giving and made huge sacrifices for his community, his wife, his son and his grandchildren.

William V. Powell kept a garden. A garden of the heart; he planted all the good things, that gave our lives their start. He turned us to the sunshine, and encouraged us to dream; fostering and nurturing the seeds of love. And when the winds and rain came, he protected us enough; but not too much because he knew we would stand up strong and tough. His constant good example, always taught us right from wrong; guidance for our pathway that will last a lifetime long. We are William V. Powell’s garden, we are his legacy. He will live on inside of us forever for that is all our heart knows.

You are missed by Lula, Alwyn, Thandi, Sibongile Powell, Lorato Lester, relatives and friends. Please leave condolences below…
