Hall, Claude D., Jr. affectionately known to all as “Lil Claude” entered into eternal rest on Friday, July 19, 2013 after his courageous battle with cancer. He is preceded in death by father, Claude E. Hall; grandparents, Jeff and Elizabeth Hall, Lula Cody; brother, Donald Hall. He is survived by mother, Amanda Hall, devoted children and caregivers, Brandon and Ebony Hall, sons, Kendall and Eric Bush; step-daughter, Tiffany (Jeff, Jr.) Hensley; devoted sister and caregiver, Wanda Jett; sister, Barbara Jo (Louis) McClure; brother, Chicko Jett; niece, Alisha McClure; nephews, Anthony Jordan, and Clifton McClure; a host of other relatives and friends. Monday, July 15th, 2013Winton, Elvis R. – born March 13, 1958, to the late Gladys Winton and J B Taylor. He was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, July, 15, 2013. He is preceded in death by his brother, Larry Winton, grandparents, Charles (Pauline) Winton, uncle, Wittley Winton, cousins, Loretta Watts, Jackie Ray Watts and William Winton. He will be forever cherished by his devoted ex-wife and friend, Denise Tucker; son, Antonio (Phyllis) Faulkner; daughters, LaQuitta (Jason) Cullom, and Denisha (Andra) Thompson; grandchildren, Ke’Yanna Thompson, Mary Page, Ta’Won Burris, Thomasia Agnew, Thomas (Ray Ray) Agnew and Ja’Riyah Cullom; sister, Christine Winton; brothers, Pastor Melvin Winton and Willie (Rosella) Winton; aunts, Frances Wiley, Dorothy James; uncle, Charlie Winton; devoted nieces, Shanya Tate and Brodaria Winton; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Elmo “Moe” E. Blackwell
Sunday, July 14th, 2013Elmo (Moe) E. Blackwell of Knoxville, passed away to be with his heavenly father on Sunday, July 14, 2013. Elmo met no strangers and called everyone friend. He was a veteran of the Korean War and had a work span that later included years at Fort Sanders Hospital and Tennessee Valley Authority. He was a faithful member of Rogers Memorial Baptist Church and dearly loved the Men’s Ministry of which he was a member.
He is preceded in death by parents Nathaniel and Genie Blackwell and was the last of 14 siblings born to that union. He leaves to have fond memories family members to include William (Maria) Mills, Chris Bentley, Richard Blackwell, Henry Blackwell, close friends to include caregiver Carol Young, Jimmy Battle, Lonnie McNair, Curtis Ray, Willie James Elder, Robert and Annetta James, Jarrett Bush, Albert Nelson, the residents of Morningside Gardens, and the Rogers Memorial Baptist Church family.
A very heartfelt thank you is extended to Dr. Carla Gillespie and all of the NHC (St. Mary’s) staff who treated him with so much dignity and respect.
Services will be held on Friday, July 19, 2013, at Unity Mortuary with visitation at 11:00 a.m. and funeral service to follow at 11:30, Reverend A.D. Baxter officiating and the Reverend Dr. Michel S.E. Caldwell eulogist. Interment will follow at the Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on John Sevier Highway. Service will conclude with full military honors and dove release.

Morgan was the youngest of his five siblings. Educated in Knoxville City Schools. Attended University of Louisville. Morgan accepted Christ in his youth. He rededicated his life and became a faithful member of Mount Olive Baptist Church. Employed for many years at Baptist Hospital and Greyhounds Bus Line. Preceded in death by parents; step-father, O’Neil “Bo” Hamilton; grandmother, Corean Robinson-Gray; 4 brothers, David, Benny, Charles and Bill Robinson. Morgan leaves to cherish his memories: brother, Kenneth “Gene” (Tabitha) Robinson, East Point, MI; aunts, Evelyn Thompson and Mary Edwards, Detroit, MI; uncle, Reverend Herman (Jessie) Robinson, Sandusky, OH; a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A member of First A.M.E Zion Church, retired educator of Knox County Schools and a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. Preceded in death by husband, William Grant Cowan, her parents, two brothers and three sisters; niece Mary Florence Debro McClain and great great niece, Vicky Bobo.

Friday, June 7th, 2013Brown, Uniqua – age 21, was born to Tomica Delaney-Jones and Victor Brown, Sr. she attended Overcoming Believers Church. Uniqua was a loving mother, daughter and sister. She had a big heart for the ones she loved. She will be missed by all who knew her. Preceded in death by her grandfather, Johnny (Smokey) Brown.
