William Hamilton, Sr.

Rev. William Hamilton, Sr. – age 92 of Knoxville, TN. passed away on April 9, 2014. He leave preceded in death mother, Laura Hamilton; wives, Lois Foster Hamilton and Edith Hamilton; daughter, Patricia Ann Baird. Left to cherish his memories: daughter, Ms. Juanita Clinkscales; son, William (Laurinda) Hamilton, Jr.; grandchildren, William (Lucia) Clinkscales, Sherri Long, Sidney Clinkscales, Shawn Baird, Christalyn (Kevin) Cunningham, Cicily Baird and William Hamilton, III; 15 great-grandchildren. A special thanks to Island Homes Health Care Staff. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 14, 2014  from 5:30 until 6:30 pm with funeral services to follow at Community Evangelistic Church, 2650 Boyd’s Bridge Pike with Elder Reginald Strong officiating. Interment will be Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Sherwood Memorial Gardens at 11:00 am. Services to conclude with full dove release

Minor, George Monroe – passed away on Monday, morning March 24, 2014 at Fort Sanders Regional Hospital. He retired from the Marriott Hotel. Preceded in death by: wife, Evelyn Maxine Minor; mother, Nancy Smith; father, George Minor, Sr.; son, George Minor, Jr.; daughter, Linda Minor McCleary; 2 brothers. Survived by: long time companion, Claudia Wagoner; daughter, Nancy (Danny) Colquitt; sons, William (Patricia) Minor, Lorenzo Minor, Terrell Davis; 5 grandchildren; 1 brother; 2 sisters; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives too numerous to name. Family will receive friends on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 12:00 Noon until 1:00 PM with funeral services to follow at Unity Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Anthony Cannon Officiating & Eulogist. Geter, Jr. David E. (Muscles) – departed his earthly life on March 24, 2014 at The University of Tennessee Medical Center. David was born on October 12, 1975 in Knoxville, Tennessee. Preceded in death by mother, Decloris Geter; grandparents, James and Mable Geter, Sr., John and Josephine Brown; aunts, Drexel Thomas and LaFreda Lowery; uncles, Herbert and John Geter and Lowell Brown. Survived by father, David (Clara) Geter, Sr.; aunts, Betty Batmon, Evelyn Geter, Audrey Brown, Deborah Martin, Rev. Arozelle (Ernest) Phillips of Knoxville; Azell Gittens of Rancho Cordova, CA., Nannie R. Washington of Jericho, NY; uncles, James (Chelita), Water (Paulette) and Charles (Cynthia) Geter, Knoxville and Raymond Brown of San Diego, CA; host of cousins to include special cousins, William (Bill Bill) Geter and Sophia Brown; other relatives and friends. Gaiter, Felix – World War II Veteran and Retired Contractor, died Friday, March 21, 2014. He was born November 22, 1922 in Sylacauga, Alabama. Member of Rogers Memorial Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Will and Deffie Gaiter and siblings, Helen, Will and L’Vernon. Survived by his wife of 66 years Margaret Ross Gaiter; children, Peggy (John) Jackson, Kathy Lowery Roberts, Felix Ross Gaiter; grandchildren, Robin Barnes, Roger (Kathy) Lowery, Natalie Swift, Yusef (Michelle) Gaiter, Velvet, Felix Xavier and Kleopatra Gaiter; great grandchildren, Tariq and Jalil Barnes, Bishop Lowery, Lynden Ross Gaiter; sisters-in-law, Versie Gaiter, Connie Ross Mills and Erma L. Ross; many nephews, nieces, great nephews and nieces and dear friend A.B. Coleman along with many other friends and church family. Special appreciation to Dr. Larry Brakebill, Dr. Carla Gillespie and staff at Holston Health and Rehabilitation Center. Kelso, Elizabeth Robinson – age 75, was called home to be with the Lord on March 17, 2014 at Fort Sanders Regional Hospital in Knoxville, Tennessee. She was a member of True Vine Missionary Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter and care giver, Earnestine (Lawrence) Andrews; granddaughter, LaToya Michelle Andrews and dear friend, Fransetta Phillips; sister, Annie Lois (Randolph) Bailey and brother, Paul Robinson, Jr.; aunts, Irene Styles and Millie Haynes; a dear care giver, Madeline Sanders; several nieces; nephews; True Vine Church Family and many other relative and friends. Family will receive friends on Friday, March 21, 2014 from 6:30 until 7:00 P.M. at True Vine Missionary Baptist Church with funeral service to follow at 7:00 P.M with Rev. Cecil Clark officiating. Preceded in death by his parents, Mrs. Herlene Elder and Mr. Thomas Elder, Sr.; sisters, Mary and Doris Elder; brothers, John Elder and Thomas Elder, Jr.; best friend Ronald M. Nesbitt, Sr. He is survived by wife, Yolanda Elder; children, Shannon Matthews, Sonia (Garfield) Wilson, Tina Crawley, Willie J. Elder, Jr., Janine and James Thompson; brothers, Charles and Greg Elder; sister, Barbara Elder; 20 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and close friends. The Family will receive friends Sunday, March 23, 2014 from 3:30 until 4:00 pm at Unity Mortuary Chapel with funeral service to follow at 4:00 pm with Rev. Ronald Nesbitt, Jr. officiating. Means, Robert L. Jr. – of Knoxville, Tennessee departed this life on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at University of Tennessee Medical Center. He was born on April 9, 1950 in Maryville, Tennessee to Robert L. Means, Sr. and Lois J. Perry. Robert retired from Robert Shaw Fulton Plant after 34 years of service. Faithful member of the Tennessee Valley/James E. Derrick Lodge 1152. Bobby was a very devoted husband, father, grandfather, great- grandfather. Preceded in death by father, Robert Means, Sr.; mother, Lois Perry; son, Robert “Spunick” Means, III. Bobby will be forever missed by a very devoted wife together for 48 years and happily married 46 years, Anita L Means; 5 devoted daughters, Hope, Robin (A.J.),  Stephanie Means,  Kristian (DaMichael) Chigano and Lynn Covington all of Knoxville; 13, grandchildren, Calvin Rader, Jr, Iesha Dorsett and many more; 3 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers-in-law, Clarence Duncan of Rockford, IL Marvin (Kim) Duncan and George Manning of Knoxville; 3 sisters-in-law, Karen , Marilyn, and Tammy Duncan; devoted cousins, Rita and Preston Walker, Stanley Walker and Eugene Martin  all of Louisville, TN and Kenneth Walker of Athens, TN; a host of other relatives and friends too numerous to name. Garfield Mitchell, Jr. – of Knoxville, passed away Friday, March 7, 2014 at Ft. Sanders Regional. He was employed at Ft. Sanders Hospital for 53 years. He is survived by his brother, Clarence Mitchell; sisters, Rosa Meade, Lorene Young and Verna Bell; beloved niece and nephew Loretta Mitchell and Leslie Mitchell; a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Family will receive friend Wednesday March 12, 2014 from 5:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Unity Mortuary Chapel with funeral service to follow at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Sandford Miller officiating. Ernest McGhee

McGhee, Ernest – was born on November 19, 1922 in Barbourville, Kentucky and moved to Knoxville, TN at an early age. He graduated from Austin High School, Bluefield State College and Knoxville College. Ernest accepted Christ at an early age. He served as a Deacon, Elder and in the choir. Ernest was employed by Knoxville Housing Authority and later at Commercial Maintenance. Ernest loved golf, traveling and talking to friends. On March 6, 2014, Ernest went to his heavenly home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bertha Rice and Albert McGhee. Left to cherish his memories are loving wife of sixty eight years, Naomi McGhee; devoted daughter, Pamela (Dr. Vincent Jarone) Price; grandsons, Jarone  (Kamika) Price and Dr. Anthony (Lauren) Price; great grandchildren, Jameelah  Price and Kareem Price; devoted sister-in-law, Mildred Simmons; cousins, Herman Woolfork, and Rev. Thomas Simmons, Lou Boze, Darlin Sparks, Lela Gregory and friends. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 from 11:00 until 12:00 Noon at Shiloh Presbyterian Church with funeral service to follow with Rev. Stone Carr officiating. Huguley, Rosalind Renee – age 56, passed away March 4, 2014 ending her suffering. She was born on October 30, 1957. She is survived by her mother, Christine Huguley; children, Christopher (Kristin) and Swann Huguley; grandchildren, Ciara and Tyrik Huguley; brothers and sisters, Jerome Huguley, Cynthia (Harry) Singleton, Randy (Virginia) Huguley, James (Telinda) Jackson and Tammy Huguley; a host of nieces, nephews relatives and friends. Special thanks to U T Medical Center and NHC North Knoxville. The memorial service will be held at Unity Mortuary Chapel on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at 3:00 P. M. The family will assemble at the home of Christine Huguley 1129 Groner Drive following the service.
