Garfield Mitchell, Jr.

Garfield Mitchell, Jr. – of Knoxville, passed away Friday, March 7, 2014 at Ft. Sanders Regional. He was employed at Ft. Sanders Hospital for 53 years. He is survived by his brother, Clarence Mitchell; sisters, Rosa Meade, Lorene Young and Verna Bell; beloved niece and nephew Loretta Mitchell and Leslie Mitchell; a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Family will receive friend Wednesday March 12, 2014 from 5:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Unity Mortuary Chapel with funeral service to follow at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Sandford Miller officiating. The family will assemble at 4708 Plymouth Rd.

    Garfield was a beacon of friendship at
    Fort Sanders Hospital. I had the pleasure
    of working with him for 30 years. He was
    very close to my former partners, Drs Wm Muse Sr. &
    Wm Muse Jr. Garfield was loved by all!! God bless

    My prayers and thoughts are with you during this time. I absolutley loved working with him in the hospital. He ALWAYS had a smiled and kind words to say to everyone. His presence will be missed dearly.

    A loving friend. I worked with Garfield for 14 years. The work place will never be the same. He will be greatly missed but he is in the arms of Jesus so I will see him again. My prayers are with his family.
