Mitchell, Shaniah L. – joined the heavenly angels on December 16, 2011 at UT Medical Center as a result of an automobile accident. Shaniah was a student at Hardin Valley High School. She was a wonderful daughter, devoted sister, beautiful granddaughter and a fun-loving friend to everyone who knew her. If you knew her, you would know the color of the day was “PINK.” Shaniah was a happy and free-spirited young lady. She will be sorely missed, but to know that God had another course for her to take has been accepted. Shaniah will affectionately kiss again the cheeks of her maternal grandfather, Robert Woody and paternal grandmother, Carolyn Mitchell as they welcome her to her new home. She leaves to cherish her memory: loving and devoted mother, Selena Parks; devoted father, Shannon (Frenchie) Mitchell; brothers to include devoted brother, Derek “DJ” Kellogg, Jr, Shannon and Eli Mitchell and Aaron Davis; sisters: Taiya and Kennedy Mitchell; maternal grandmother, Lelia Thomas Rivers; paternal grandfather, Willie Mitchell; aunts: Rasha Miller and Betty (Robert) Hackler; uncles: Clinton Woody of Atlanta, Richard (Katrina) and Dale Mitchell; devoted cousins, Carol Hackler, Shakira Nash of Atlanta and Kidada Wilson; devoted friends: Sierra Elliott, Danielle Harris, Shyan Strunk, Briann Hull, Kristin Conklin and Amanda McRae; a host of other relatives and friends. The family extends a special thank you to everyone for their love and support shown to them during this most difficult time. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at Freedom Fellowship Christian Church, 4027 Papermill Road. Pastor Derrick Wakefield officiating. Interment will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens where a full dove and balloon release will conclude the service.
