I was shocked to hear this. He was my music teacher at Madison High School for three years. He loved to teach and had the most wonderful love for it. I am sure that he is in heaven singing in God’s choir. He was loved by many and will be missed. Thank you so much for all that you did for all of us “kids”.

Mr. Scandrick and my mother, Gloria Booth, were born and raised in Knoxville, TN. Their families were very close. They both moved to Nashville to attend school and also worked together at Washington Jr. High School. Mr. Scandrick was very supportive of my mother and her children. His kindness was extremely evident when my mother became ill and during her death. He would call and visit often. He was a very talented, strong, smart, no-nonsense person and his presence will truly be missed. I had spoken to him a couple of weeks before his passing. Please know that his family is in my thoughts and prayers.

What a dear friend, dating back to our first meeting Dr. Scandrick when my husband was a young pastor at Rockland Baptist Church, Hendersonville, and Dr. Scandrick led musical presentations in the East Fork District Association. Upon returning to Nashville in 2010, Scandrick was my favorite person for discovering one of Nashville’s best restaurants. How deeply he will be missed!

Mr. Scandrick was my music teacher the last year I was at Madison High School. I could tell he was serious about teaching and I enjoyed the class. My sympathy to the family. It was a pleasure to be in his class.
