William V. Powell, Jr., was a remarkable man.  He led a life filled with spirituality, generosity, family and friends.  He touched numerous lives through countless altruistic acts and exemplified strength, commitment, and perseverance.  He wore many hats as a trailblazer for his community, yet his most prized role was patriarch of the Powell family.  As a husband, father and grandfather, he impacted on our lives immeasurably.

We miss your soulful eyes, warm embraces, and kind words.  You gently guided us away from adversity and offered encouragement when life presented obstacles.  You provided comfort and wisdom and sacrificed for the prosperity of our family.  You felt that the adoration of our family is what made you a rich man, but it was your love that kept our cup of blessings overflowing.  As we commemorate the day of your home-going, we celebrate by remembering a lifetime of memories that flood our hearts.  We love you and will continue to honor your legacy until we meet again in the presence our heavenly father. Amen
