Our deepest sympathies and prayers for your family
Prayer for you and your family. I know David through BSF and visited with him last on Monday night. He talked to me about how his dad had died early in his life but that it had raised his desire to be a better father to his daughters. Lost my mom in September 2010 so I can wish you the peace that only God can and will provide at this challenging time..
I went to school with David in Dyersburg. I remember him as being smart and witty. He had lots of friends. Thoughts and prayers are with his family.
This was an unexpected loss. My prayers and sympathies are with his wife, daughters, and other family members.
Our hearts are met with great sadness with the news of the loss of David. Our hearts and prayers are with the Milan Family.

God bless all of you.

Dear Sheryl,
I am so sorry to hear about David’s passing. It just seems like yesterday that I went by his office to see him. He was such a wonderful person. I am truly going to miss him. May god be with you and the family. You all are in our prayers.
Take Care.
Sheryl, Joy and Jana – it was with great sadness that I learned of Dave’s passing. It was only a few short weeks ago I had the privilege of working with him on a check presentation to a local charity as part of our Black History Month Celebration. During our lunch, we had a chance to catch up and he was so excited about the future mentioning that he had applied for the recent early retirement offering. He was hopeful he would be approved so he could become engaged in some volunteer activities and spend more time with his family enjoying this new phase of life. His love for three of you was so deep and he was enormously proud of his two daughters. My heart just aches for you but I am comforted knowing he is at eternal rest with our Father.
Dave was among the kindest men I have ever known. He will be missed by all those who had the pleasure to know him.
With deepest sympathies,
Leigha
The City of Dyersburg, former Bruce High School and former Bruce Elementary students certainly sympathize with you in your time of sorrow.

We are asking God to be especially close to you and your family through this difficult time. Please know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. My path crossed David’s severall times in our careers, and we both ended up at ORNL. I remember we attended Advanced Management Training together in Newport in the late ’80s. He was always fair and friendly, and I enjoyed working with him. His loss was a shock. I talked to him right before I retired from the Lab in 2006, and I know he was looking forward to retirement. When he talked about his family, his face always lit up.
Please accept my sincere condolences. He will be greatly missed.
Deepest sympathy to the Milan family,I knew David from working with him at Parkview Hospital(Dyersburg,Tn.) He always had a ready smile & friendly word for all of his co-workers.He will be truly missed.May God bless you.
From my days at UTK, I remember David as being an excellent student and someone that you could trust. I see some 35 years later how the Lord used him to impact the lives of others. My hope is that his family can move forward knowing that he was a very good man and his heart was focused in the right direction. May the Lord comfort and cover David’s family not only through this loss but through every season of life.
Sheryl, Joy and Jana,
I am so sorry for you loss. David was a fine man and loved all of you dearly. I know you will miss him but he is leaning on the Lord now. God Bless You.
Nancy
Sheryl, Joy and Jana.
I live in Paducah and worked with David for many years. We had a wonderful personal and professional working relationship. He and I still talked occasionally. I retired from the Paducah site 4 years ago and have been enjoying a busy retirement. David was looking forward to doing the same thing. He called me about every 2 months to see if I knew of any employment opportunities. One of the other people that we both knew called and told me the shocking news. I was speechless.
One of my fondes memories is a time when we travelled to San Diego, California. My mother went along–she had never been to California. We did not have a rental car, but David did. He dragged me and my mom along on some local sight seeing. My mom was very impressed by him and, to this day, whenever something comes up about San Diego, she always asks if I have heard from “that nice man from Oak Ridge.”
I’m sure you grief is ovewhelming. He leaves a very large hole that will remain open for a long time. I know you will miss him so many times. I’m so sorry that he didn’t get to enjoy the retirement that he so desired.
All my warmest regards.
Sorry for your loss. I remember David for his kindness and respect. You are in our thoughts and prayers, may God bless and keep you.
I am truly sorry for your loss. i worked with Dave for many years before i retired from DOE last year. He will be greatly missed. His friendly attitude and leadership was recognized by everyone.
Sheryl, Jana, and Joy,
We were so sad to learn today of your loss. All of you are in our thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time. Please know that we are here for you, to talk, listen, pray, and anything else we can do to be of help to you.
We share your loss. I knew and worked with David for over 20 years. We talked work and when we were not working we talked about family. David was one of the best men I have known. Never a bad word about others
We will “hear” David’s kind voice for the rest of our lives.
David was the best of the best.
David was so proud of his wife and children and kept us up on their progress.
The family lost so much and the world has lost a good man.
We carry you with us forever.
