Strong, Kathleen took flight for her eternal home, Friday, September 27, 2013 at UT Medical Center. She was a retired teacher of the Knox County School System. She was also an active member of the Payne Ave. Baptist Church for over 60 years and a member of Sigma Gama Rho Sorority, Inc. She was a proud member of the Austin High School class of 1953. She leaves behind to cherish her memories; a dedicated twin sister Athaleen Strong, brother, Murphy Strong, (Eugenia), sister-in-law, Pearlie Strong; devoted niece, Patricia Littlejohn and a host of other nieces, nephews, and cousins. Homegoing services will be held Wednesday, October 2nd 12:00 noon at Payne Ave. Baptist Church with Family visitation hour at 11:00am. Reverend Richard Brown, officiating, Reverend Kamau Kenyatta, eulogist. Interment to follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens in Alcoa, TN. Services to conclude with full dove release.
