Tate, Shirley Ann Chesney – RN, daughter of the late William E. and Mary Garrette Chesney, went into eternal rest on January 19, 2010. She retired from Fort Sanders Regional Hospital after 35 years of service. She was preceded in death by:  son, Gregory Allen Tate; parents; 5 brothers and 4 sisters. She leaves her loving family:  sons, Gary and Michael Chesney; daughter, Doris Tate Davenport; grandchildren, Nahia (Andre) Halloway, Ashanti Bailey Chesney, Diedra Tate, Tamika Tate, Brittany Davenport, Michael Chesney Jr., Dyanunhdre Sutton and Jada Davenport; 8 great-grandchildren; sisters, Margaret Ballenger, Knoxville, TN and Mary F. Senter, Morristown, TN; sisters-in law, Hueen Chesney and Gwendolyn Chesney; brother-in-law, Paul Bolton; several nieces and nephews including very devoted nieces, Mary Helen Smith and Ollie (Ploozie) Goolsby; and several other family members, church family and friends. Family will receive friends on Friday, January 22, 2010 from 6:00-7:00 pm with services to follow at Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church.  Elder Joe Senter, officiating.  Reverend Gregory Sawyer, Eulogist. Interment Saturday, January 23, 2010 at New Gray Cemetery. Service to conclude with full dove release.
