    A Spiritual Person was Nedda
From young Nedda displayed strong spirituality. This no doubt was
inherited and developed from her faithful Dad and Mom. Seeking the
Kingdom first was on her agneda. Once when she was about 12 year old she was playing a game of jacks. She thought I was going to tell her she should be using that time studying. But she was surprised when I joined in playing the game. She like her parents was kind and generous in helping others. She and her husband attendfed our 50th anniversary and we attended one of theirs in Georgia. Her smiling pleasant face will be missed by us and sought out in the New World. With sincere love James & Geraldine Thompson

When Nedda began her pioneering at the age of 17, it was my expressed desire to become a missionary,at the age of 17. This was discouraged by my father(a baptist) I guess he thought I would become a swilvered old maid, however three years later I got a hold of the book From “Paradise Lost to Paradise Regain”,and read it thru within two weeks.Recognize the truth, was baptised a year later.Baptised on my 21st birthday, started pioneering at age 22,I met Nedda around that time,we worked together in Miami for a while.

This was one experience we shared together, she studied with this Penecostal lady, who was very religious. Aa she was directing this ladies attention, to the scriptrues showing the difference between Jehovah and Jesus, this lady screamed to the top of her voice!(I was dosing) of course I came alive (smile) she said: “you mean to tell me I’ve from all those Churches, and they lied to those people?,Nedda said Rose, I don’t think I’m coming back next week.I said, no Nedda, you’ve got to come back Jehovah spirit has got to her! We were back the following week. Mrs Moses got the truth, was baptised, and started vacation pioneering. She came into truth with the same zeal she had before.

I always appreciated how Nedda prepared for her studies right down to D.I.O Jehovah blessed her effort as a result,we became Walhalla S.C, Isolated group, and eventually the Walhalla S.C.Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

So as family and friends we can all look farward to the prophecy there in Isaiah 65:16 because the former distresses will actually be forgotten and because they will actually be concealed from our eyes.,so may you as a family continue to cherish the memory of your dear sister.

    Sincerely,

Rose Awardo, a spiritual sister & friend.

I’m going to start out by quoting Pro. 17:17 “A true companion is loving all the time and is a brother that is born for when there is distress” To those we love, we have an ongoing association which in turn implies love and attachment. That attachment went on for many many years. As I remember it was January of 1979 when that attachment began, her attachment had a molding effect which I will always keep in my heart. She helped me in applying the scriptures when I didn’t quite understand. Her zeal for Jehovah’s kingdom had a positive effect on me that will continue to influence me to live up to my determination to please Jehovah. She always offered her support and encouragement. The most things for friends are to have in common is spiritual values which we both shared from our beliefs. It gives me peace of mind and heart knowing that Aunt Nedda reminded faithful to Jehovah to the end. Aunt nedda my heart is truly grieving for you. All these sayings go back to Prov. 17:17. Love, Lottie you niece

While growing up as a young girl, there was a feeling of great respect for Aunt nedda. When you think of her, the word that most comes to mind is Faithful. This is as a whole describes this unforgettable woman. Fair, she made you think of the right things to say, to do, and to act upon. Aiding always serving Jehovah. Pioneering, preaching, teaching whether in Bimini Bahamas, the Carolinas’s, Georgia or Florida aiding so many in the truth. She was just mentioned this last week in an obituary for sister Robinson who lives in Miami, Fl as aiding her & her family to know Jehovah. I regret I was not able to share that with her. I was speaking to sister Effie Johns and she stated her first talk in 1963 was given with Aunt Nedda’s help. Sister Emma Gorley stated that she would walk with Aunt Nedda in field service for long distances to preach. My own recent experience happened to be the last time I saw her. We did street witnessing, she taught me how to get the magazines into so many hands that day at the bus stops, bus stations and shopping malls. it was so amazing and encouraging. I will always carry that day with me. Intelligent, thought provoking, hope she always gave me cause for hope, susch as “We will see you in paradise”. Full of knowledge all good things about Jehovah his organization and the outworkings of his purpose. Unequaled, no one is equal to her. Loyal as a mate, as a friend, but most of all as a servant of Jehovah. Oh how we will miss you Aunt Nedda, but it will make us strive to see you again. We are thankful to have known you We Love You!
