Robert Rodgers, Jr., age 88 passed away early Wednesday morning December 19, 2012. Born on October 12, 1924, he was a lifelong resident of Knoxville, TN and a proud member of Christ Temple Holiness Church until his health failed. Preceded in death by parents, Robert & Cloris Rodgers, Sr.; sisters, Ernestine Rodgers Smith and Thelma (June) Ballenger; brothers, A.W. Rodgers and Roy Rodgers; former wife Juanita (Jarnigan) Rodgers. Left to cherish his fond memories, devoted wife Ruby Rodgers; son, Robert “Rocky” (LaKishe’) Rodgers; step-son, Kelly Smith; step-daughters, Vanessa (Vincent) Brown, Tonya Middleton, Rubye (Larry) Stovall, Janice Jarnigan, Judy (Jarnigan) Hamilton, Treva Jarnigan, Tina (Gregory) Benward, Sr.; sisters-in-law, Pauline Rodgers of NJ, Linda Wagner, Gloria (Susie) Smith; brothers-in-law, James and Terry Smith; grandson/son, Kenny Glass and many others family and friends too numerous to name. Family will receive friends on Thursday, December 27, 2012 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 Noon with funeral services to follow at Christ Temple Holiness Church on Ault Road. Interment to be held on Friday, December 28, 2012 at 1:30 PM at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery on John Sevier Highway. Services to conclude with full dove release.
