Edwin L. Wynder

Wynder, Edwin, L. “Rocky”- departed this life on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at his home. Mr. Wynder was an U.S. Army Veteran and later retired from TVA as an Accountant. Also known to many as one of the greatest saxophonist to ever play the instrument, Rocky was a gentle and humble man. He loved music but his greatest passion was his family. He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, great friend and a true musician. Preceded in death by his parents, Arnetta and Edwin L. Wynder, Sr. and brother, Joseph Wynder.  He is survived by a loving wife, Catherine and leaves a legacy with his sons: Larry, Jacksonville, FL, Dwight (Renee), Knoxville, TN, Brian (Cynthia), Atlanta, GA and Michael (Ranae) Wynder, Louisville, KY; grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters: Mildred Farrow, Tacoma, WA, Bertha Mae Gant and Alice Whitehurst, both of Pensacola, FL; a host of relatives and friends to include special friends: Walter (Marilyn) Spears, Bobby Lane, Cleveland “Sonny” (Norma) Drummond, Bishop William ( Tamara) Pankey, Chico Crawford, Keith Brown, Donald Brown, Mark Boling, Tim (Yvonne) Beshea and Brenda Bishop. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 2, 2012 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with the funeral service to follow at Greater Mount Moriah FBH Church. Bishop William Pankey officiating. Interment will follow the service at TN State Veterans Cemetery East, John Sevier Highway. It will conclude with full military honors and a full dove release. Aline Wells Harris

Harris, Aline Wells – departed this life on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at UT Medical Center. Preceded in death by her son, Victor Harris, Jr., grandson, Victor Harris, III, parents, Mae Etta Wells and James Garfield, Sr. and brother, Alford Wells. Survived by grandchildren, VicShyria Nelson and JarRon Harris; brother, James (Mary) Garfield, Jr., sisters: Mary Lynn Wells, Veronica (Claude) Powell, Cynthia Scott of Memphis, TN, Carla and Gyndola Wells and a host of other relatives and friends to include close friends, Debra (Al) Sumpter and Sheila. On Friday, February 3, 2012, visitation is 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with the funeral to follow at Community Evangelist Church.  Elder Frank Hill, Jr. officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Alcoa where a full dove release will conclude the service.

Olin McGhee

Olin McGhee departed this life on January 26, 2012 at NHC Fort Sanders. He retired and was a long time employee of Swans Bakery. Preceded in death by wife, Barbara McGhee. Survivors are children, Shirley Bruton, Patricia Spears, Deborah (Bernard) Humphrey, Angela and Richard McGhee; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon-1:00 PM Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at Unity Mortuary Chapel with the funeral service to follow with Reverend Robert Monroe Officiating. Interment to follow at Highland South Park with full dove release.

James Calvin Tuggle

Tuggle, James Calvin – departed this life on January 23, 2012 at UTMC. He was a self- employed carpenter. Preceded in death by parents, Elizabeth Allen and Ello Tuggle, Sr., brother, Ello Jr., sisters, Frances and Anna. He is survived by children: Vanessa (Doug) Moore, AZ, Vanda Earles and Sherman (Lisa) Tuggle; 9 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn Daniels, Jewell Fannin, Bobbie (George) Jackson, IL; cousin, Aaron Allen, a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 27, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with the service to begin 12:00 noon. Burial at  Mount Olive Cemetery, Maryville Pike.

Underwood, Christine Cline – of Knoxville, went home on Friday, January
20, 2012, at Fort Sanders Regional Hospital. Preceded in death by her son, Herbert Underwood, Jr., parents Lily Cline and Charles Fire, brothers, Thurman Fire and Clifton Cline and sister, Frances Cline. She leaves to celebrate her home going: children Thurman (Rebecca) Kinnebrew, Lillian Underwood, Janice Malone (Percell Booker), Cecelia and Ann Underwood; 9 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 17 great great grandchildren. On Thursday, January 26, 2012, the family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with the funeral to follow at Unity Mortuary Chapel. Rev. Milton A. Proctor, Sr. and Rev. Tiki Dixon officiating. Interment to follow the service at Mount Olive Cemetery, Maryville Pike.

Davis, Eddie Lamar – age 66 passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Fort Sanders Regional Hospital. He is survived by: sons, Eddie Davis and Erick Mack-Davis, Rochester, New York; daughter, Adrienne Mack-Davis, New York, NY; sisters, Lois (John) Moorman, S. Plainfield, New Jersey, Eddie Mae Linder, M. Annette Bailey, Knoxville, Tennessee, Harriet (Kenneth) Thomas, Bloomington, Indiana; brothers, Joe Lewis (Maggie), John (Marie), Knoxville, and Dr. W. Bob (Sylvia) Davis, Overland Park, Kansas; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends too numerous to name. Family will receive friends Friday, January 13, 2012 at Unity Mortuary Chapel from 2:00 to 2:30 pm with the Memorial Service to follow. Reverend Leroy Franklin officiating.

Campbell, Lillie Mae – went from Labor to Reward on January 4, 2012. She passed away at home surrounded by her loves one. She was a faithful member of New Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, Reuben and Hattie Campbell; brother and sister-in-law Clifford and Frajan Campbell. Lillie Mae leaves to celebrate her life, her daughter, Ms. Belinda Campbell- Pirtle; granddaughter, Min. Carren (Min. Timothy) Broadnax; grandson, Rudy Pirtle; great-grandsons, Brandon Wade and Rudy Pirtle, Jr.; nephew, Paul (Tammy) Campbell, Sr. of North Hills, CA; nieces, Jacqueline (Donnie) Comas of West Friendship, MD, Gwendolyn (Jim) Johnson of Knoxville, TN, Frajan “Baby” Campbell of Decatur, GA, and Cleo (Felix) Carter of Fayetteville, TN; son-in-law, Rudolph Pirtle; special companion, Mr. Roy Hale; and a host of other relatives and friends.
