Elmira “Auntie” Tillman, of Knoxville, was born January 5, 1926 and departed this life on December 27, 2018 at Shannondale Healthcare Center at the age of 92. She was preceded in death by her husband, Julius Robert Tillman; daughter, Kathi Miles; mother, Willie Mae Hardy; and sisters: Mae Littlejohn and Aileen Hardy. She leaves to cherish her memory a devoted niece, Esther (James) Colquitt; son-in-law, CJ Miles; grandchildren: Tamikka, Latoya and Nathaniel Miles; a host of great-grandchildren; a devoted nephew, Rev. Gerald (Nancy) Littlejohn, Sr.; and a host of nieces, great-nieces and great-nephews. The family will assemble at 5316 Montwood Drive, Knoxville. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 5, 2019 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM with the Celebration of Life Service to follow at Unity Mortuary with Elder Reginald Butler officiating and Elder Dr. Joe L. Colquitt as Eulogist. The final resting place will be at Berry Highland South Memorial Gardens follow the service. A white dove release will conclude the services.

Saturday, December 22nd, 2018Priscilla Ann Pye-Taylor, 68, of Knoxville, departed this life on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Regis Woods Nursing Home, Louisville, Kentucky. She was born on February 15, 1950 to the union of Robert L. Pye and Mable Geneva Johnson-Pye both of whom preceded her in death. Priscilla was preceded in death by two brothers, David Pye and Robert Pye. She leaves to cherish her memories a loving son, Larry Taylor; sisters: Maggie Cherry, Minnie Reid, Sylvia Wyatt, Darlene Delee and Mary Giles; and brothers: Joe Pye and Edmond Pye. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 29, 2018 from 3:30 PM to 4 PM at Unity Mortuary, with the Service to follow.

Friday, December 21st, 2018Barbara Ann “Toodle” Hall, 82, of Knoxville, departed this life on Friday, December 21, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Elizabethton, Tennessee on July 29, 1936 to the late Mildred Campbell and Essley Sims. She was the second oldest of 9 siblings, of which older brother George R. Sims and younger sister Edith M. Thomas preceded her in death. Barbara came to Knoxville in her early 20s and lived here until she left the world. She married Henry Edward Hall and had four beautiful children: Cathy (predeceased), David Sr., Greg Sr., and Patricia. Barbara was known for being the backbone of the family and was a well-known friend of the community. She was a strong believer of the Lord. She loved her family and loved her big party celebrations. She was a wonderful friend to three special ladies who also preceded her in death: Gloria Jean, Cora Mae and Nancy Tate. Barbara departed this life on Friday, December 21, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She leaves behind to cherish her memories her devoted daughter, Patricia (Frank) Hall; stepdaughter, Lawanda White; two sons: Gregory (Pearl) Hall Sr., and David (Margaret) Hall Sr.; grandchildren: Dayeshia, Tony, Sparkle, Ronnie, Domonique, Damian, Shadavia, Niyesha, Danielle, Patricia, Greg Jr., David Jr., Lakeshia, Angelel, Brent, Tyrelle, Leah and Kimora; a host of 33 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson; surviving brother and sisters: Earl S. (Era) Wagner of Wettumpa, Alabama, Frances A. (Jim) Bass of Elizabethton, TN, Loretta Thomas of Panama City, FL, Ernestine Thomas of Cleveland, OH, Hilda K. Thomas of Las Vegas, NV and Jennifer (Jeff) Graham of Gray, TN; and a host of devoted friends and family members to include: TaCola Tate, Jewel Winston, Pearl Weathers, Melkika Tate, Angie & Frank Day, Frances Bass, Antonio Hall, Niyesha Smith and Mary Hall. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 12-1 PM in the William V. Powell, Jr. Memorial Chapel of Unity Mortuary, with the Celebration of Life Service to follow with Minister Earl S. Wagner officiating. She was a longtime member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, where she sang in the sanctuary choir. She was also a Member of the Masonic Order of the Eastern Stars. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Hill; daughters, Sharon Carter and Claudia Hill; grandson, Adrian Hill; parents, Adam and Nellie Nelson; sister, Ruth Wilkerson; four brothers and a sister. She leaves to cherish her memories her devoted granddaughters, Natasha and Tamara Carter; great-grandson, Adam Hill; nephew, Wayne Wilkerson; great-niece, Tameka Wilkerson; great-nephew, Brandon Wilkerson; and many other loving relatives and friends. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 8, 2018 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Tabernacle Baptist Church, with the Homegoing Service to follow with Pastor Christopher Battle officiating. Sheneka was born December 30, 1978 to her parents at UT Hospital. She fought a good fight and now in the arms of her Heavenly Father. She was preceded in death by her grandparents. She is survived by: devoted father, James C. Jordan, Sr.; devoted mother, Cheryl E. Jordan; brother, James Jordan, Jr. of Nashville, TN; sisters, Tirshatha and Donyai of Knoxville, TN; 5 aunts; 8 aunts; several cousins and other relatives too numerous to name. The family will receives friends on Monday, November 19, 2018 from 1:00-1:30 PM in the William V. Powell, Jr. Memorial Chapel at Unity Mortuary, with funeral services to follow with Pastor Paul Harris officiating and Rev. Dexter Jordan as eulogist. Marion was a devoted Jehovah’s Witness and a dedicated member of the Kingdom Hall. She retired from Carrier United Technologies in 1992 and had a very caring and giving heart. She was preceded in death by her mother Jeanette Kershaw and grandmother Sis Kershaw. Marion will be deeply missed by her daughter, Jackie McCray; devoted granddaughter, India (Wayne) Farmer; great-granddaughter, Jasmine Brown; beloved great-great-granddaughters, Amiyah and Aliyah Brown; sister, Peggy Thomas; brother, Charles “Buddy”(Shirley) Kershaw; sister, Faye Hoffman; beloved niece and nephew, Keicha Hoffman and Kevin “Bebie” Hoffman; and a host of other family and friends.
