Crippen-Smith, Ethel Roberta – of Brooks Road, Knoxville passed into eternal rest on Sunday, April 14, 2013 at her residence. Daughter of the late Charlie and Magnolia Smith. She was employed at The University of Tennessee Medical for many years in the Newborn Nursery where she acquired many friends. She also worked for CAS Walker and The Sanford of Motor Products. She leaves to mourn her passing but cherish her memory: daughters, Sharon Crippen and Pamela Cutwright; grandchildren, Kevin and Crystal Cutwright; great-grandchildren, Jalen Jamichael Hurston and Kayah Cutwright ; devoted cousin, Essie Goody, Ulysses Thompson and family; two sister-in-laws, Sarah Nelson Crippen and Josie Crippen; extended families of Morganton, North Caroline and Roanoke, VA; devoted niece, Alberta Walker; nephew, James Staples, Jr.; devoted friends Evelyn Carter, Jimmie Ball, Hannah Ellis, Eudora Sharp and Secolise Solomon and a host of other relatives and friends. Lysander Sebastian Waters, Sr.
Monday, March 25th, 2013Waters, Lysander Sebastian Sr. – was born on May 28, 1954 in Quitman, Georgia to the late Mr. Robert and Mrs. Mildred Waters. He went home to be with the Lord on March 25, 2013. He received his formal education in the Brooks County Schools system. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering with a Minor in Math and a Minor in Physics from Savannah State University in Savannah, Georgia. He was a member of Alpha Phi Omega Fraternity. Lysander united in marriage to the former Rosa Lee Brown in June 1978. He received Christ at an early age. He was baptized at St. James Missionary Baptist Church, Barney, GA. He later united with the Mt. Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Sweetwater, Tennessee. He was a Sunday School Teacher and a member of the Media Ministry. In 2001, he became a member of True Light Missionary Baptist Church, Knoxville, TN. He was a faithful servant in the Men’s Ministry. He was employed at Y-12 Lockheed Martin (formally Union Carbide) from 1978. In his spare time he enjoyed reading his bible, gardening, hunting, fishing, cooking, and spending time with his brothers and children. He leaves to cherish his memory, a loving daughter, Dr. LaKisha W.
