Burris, of Knoxville, TN, went to join his heavenly Father on April 22, 2019 at the age of 58. He is preceded in death by his father, Herman Burris Sr., and three brothers: Charles, Kenneth, and Herman Jr.\u00a0He is survived by his mother, Rosalee Burris; daughter, Kellye Lett; two granddaughters: Aliyah and Jazmine; sister, Emma Burris; brothers: Saleem (Shahidah) Sharif and Michael (Vicki) Burris; a host of beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family including McDonald&#8217;s and Denny&#8217;s coworkers.\u00a0The remains of Mr. Burris will lie repose on Sunday, April 27, 2019 from 1-6 PM\u00a0 in the William V. Powell, Jr. Memorial Chapel of Unity Mortuary. The family will receive friends on Monday April 29, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM\u00a0 at the mortuary with the Celebration of Life Service to follow with Pastor Jesse Williams officiating. The final resting place will be at New Gray Cemetery following the service.
