He took his wings home to his heavenly Father on October 9, 2017. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Orangie Ann (Collins) Howell; daughters, Orangietta and Cordonnia; granddaughter, Yolanda; brothers, Ross, Charles Sr., and George Sr.; sisters, Alice, Helen and Edna; and sister-in-law, Arvine Hodge.\u00a0He is survived by his daughters, Constance (Curtis) Davis and Jennifer (Willie) Ross; son, Edward Jr. (Denise); devoted grandson, Huey (Shenika); other grandsons, Curtis Jr., and Jonathan Davis; a host of grandchildren, great- and great-great-grandchildren; devoted nephews, Terry, George, and Willie; devoted niece, Kathy Faye; and a host of relatives and friends.\u00a0The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 14, 2017 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Unity Mortuary, 1425 McCalla Avenue, with the funeral service to follow, with Elder Malcom Hill officiating. The final resting place will be at Highland South Memorial Park following the service. A white dove release will conclude the services.
