Juanita Underwood, of Oak Ridge departed this life on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at her residence. She was a graduate of Oak Ridge High School. She was a United States Army Veteran. She leaves to cherish her wonderful memory: 3 brothers, nieces, nephew and other relatives and friend. The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 26, 2016 from 11:00 to 12:00 with funeral service to follow at 12:00 Noon with Rev. Lloyd Jones, Jr. officiating. Interment to follow at the East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery 2200 E. John Sevier Hwy. Services to conclude with military honor, dove release and blanket presentation.

Danny “Rock” Anderson

Danny (Rook) Anderson, of Knoxville passed away January 9, 2016. He was preceded in death by both parents, John Anderson, Sr. and Ollie Avery-Anderson; siblings, Loretta and Jerry Avery. He leaves to carry on his memory: wife, Debra Anderson; daughter, Kayla (Josh) Anderson; aunts, Shirley Johnson Avery, Betty Avery; uncle, Bobby Avery; siblings, John Jr., Kenny, Darlene and Renee Anderson; step-children, Jason, Tarnisha and LaQuisha Sullivan and Jada Warren; grandchildren, Briellah Anderson, Ahmad, Quintasha , Jamiya, Sam Mark, Stephon, Shamon, Shaun  and Jamaylia; other relatives Alvin and Gloria McNair, Darwin and Rita Kerr, John and Felicia Bradley and Sandra Sullivan; several nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends Saturday, January 23, 2016 from 12:00 to 1:00 pm with service to follow at 1:00 pm at Unity Mortuary with Pastor Steve Simpson officiating.  Interment will immediately follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery.

Allen Terry Brown

Mr. Allen Terry Brown, son of the late Jean Blackmon- Brown and Albert Brown, was born on August 28, 1953 in Manhattan, New York. He grew up in Englewood, NJ, later moved to Lancaster and Hilton Head, SC. and Richmond, VA, and eventually moved to Knoxville, TN. He entered into eternal rest on January 6, 2016 at Tennova Hospital. Those left to cherish fond memories are his son, Lamar A Brown of Simpsonville, SC; granddaughter, Senaiya Brown of Atlanta, GA; three brothers, James (Pam) and Albert Jr. of Knoxville, TN, and Glenn of Richmond, VA; and five sisters, Penny (Larry) Cunningham of Knoxville, TN, Sandra (David) Moore of Los Angeles, CA, Estelle (Ryan) Rice and Janice (Andre) Best of Richmond, VA, and Peagan Twitty of Maryland; a special friend, Jonnie Taylor of Knoxville, TN as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. The family will receive friends from 5:30 – 6:30 pm, Wednesday, Jan 13, 2016, funeral service 6:30 pm at The Unity Mortuary Chapel. Final service and resting place on Saturday, Jan. 16 at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Lancaster, SC.

James Clifford Bowman, Jr. departed this life Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at The University of Tennessee Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marjorie Sue Clemons, father, James C. Bowman, Sr.; step-father Hubert Clemons; brother, Daral R. Clemons; uncle, Emanuel Howard; aunt, Barbara Brinson-Curry. Survivors daughters, Loreasa Harris, Kendra Bowman, LaKesha Westfield; son, James C. Bowman, III; 9 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; sisters, Boundra C. Bowman, Kimmrita Moss, Vanessa and Jennie Clemons; brothers, Herbert and Esley Clemons; special friends Pamela Buley and Sam Martin; a host of nephews, nieces other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 12, 2016 from 11:30 – 12:30 pm at Emmanuel United Presbyterian Church 3023 Selma Ave., with funeral service to follow, John A. Ghosten Pastor, Reverend Larry Brinson Eulogist. Interment to follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery. Services to conclude with dove release and blanket presentation.
