Ernest J. Hickson, Sr.

Ernest James Hickson, Sr., was born January 20, 1934 went to be with the Lord November 10, 2015. Owner of Hickson & Sons Maintenance Service. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a devoted husband and loving father. Preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Hickson; sons, Mark and Norman Hickson; granddaughter, Chalise Anderson. Survived by daughters, Vernita Lee, Norma (Kevin) Grant, Yvette (Henry) Williams, Jacquelyn (Terry) McGhee, Lelia (Bernard) Groves; sons, Ernest (Kassie McCurry) Rickson, Jr., Zanthur Hickson; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 16, 2015 from 11:00-12:00 p.m. at Knoxville Christian Center, 818 North Cedar Bluff Road with service to follow at 12:00. Interment to follow at 1:30 p.m.,  E. Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, Lyons View Pike. Service to conclude with Military Honor Guards, dove release and blanket presentation.

Arthur E. Jones, Sr. departed this life Sunday, November 15, 2015 at Johnson City Medical Center, Johnson City, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Lolla Belle Jones; aunt, Mrs. C.A. Powell; brother, Iverson McLemore and daughter-in-law, Kionia Jones and many cousins, relatives and friends. He is survived by wife, Patricia M. Jones; son, Arthur R. Jones, Jr.; daughters, Rosslyn and Raechell Jones; brother, James T. Ward; grandchildren, Shawn Ross Evans, Oshia Evans and Ruth Herrera, Jasmine and Alexandra Jones and two great-grandchildren; special cousins, George and Gladys Shirley, Ann Arbor Michigan, Jewell Minor, Harvey, Illinois; sister-in-law, Laura F. Goss; nieces, Patricia Miles, Celeste Brooks; nephews, Ralph and Runyaro Goss, Berkeley Gilbert special friends Rosetta Leath, Dr. Eric Leake and family, Rev. Joel and Ruby Miles; many other friends and the Greater Warner Church family. Family will receive friends from 3:30 – 4:30 pm on Friday, November 20, 2015 at Greater Warner A.M.E. Zion Church with funeral service to follow. Rev. Shirley Kincaid officiating. Interment Monday, November 23, 2015 at 11:30 AM E. Tennessee Veterans Cemetery 2200 E. John Sevier Hwy. Services to conclude with Military Honor Guards, and blanket presentation.

Georgia Kathryn (Mackey) Dubose

Georgia Kathryn (Mackey) Dubose’s sunrise, March 16, 1942 in McCormick, SC. Sunset November 15 2015. Georgia was the eldest of two children. She was a graduate of Austin High School Class of 1959. She was an honor student. She was a graduate of Knoxville Business College Class of 1992 with an Associate’s degree in Accounting. Georgia was a very loyal and dedicated employee at Martin Marietta (Union Carbon/Y-12 National Security) where she retired. She also worked for Hamilton National Bank and Time DC Trucking Company in the Payroll Department.She was a loving and devoted wife to Willie A DuBose for 47 years while living in the Burlington Community they raised four boys, Troy, James, Cedric and Charles. “Ms. Georgia” as she was affectionately known was loved by many. Even though she was a Mother to four boys she was a Mother to many. She opened her home and heart to her son’s childhood friends extending her love to Kenneth Termon and other friends. Georgia never met a stranger as she was loving and giving to all that crossed her path. She enjoyed her family, cooking, shopping, going to church, doing arts/crafts, listening to gospel music, dancing, and gardening. She was very active in her church serving as a deaconess at Community Evangelistic Church (C.E.C). of Knoxville, TN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie A DuBose, father, Willie Pat Mackey, mother, Rovena Mackey and brother, Charles Mackey. Georgia’s memory will be cherished by her children, Troy O. Miller-DuBose, James DuBose (Barti), Charles DuBose (Gwen) and Cedric DuBose (Colorado. She will be remembered by her grandchildren, (Mother Carla DuBose) Darius, Cornelius, Nasya and Jayden (son of Charles and Gwen) and Dionna Neal, (Ohio) (daughter of Cedric and Latrice); a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and other family members of McCormick, SC. Georgia had lifelong friendships that will forever treasure her memory, Shirley Robinson, Denota Fain, Shirley King, Shirley Lundy, “Ms Connie” (Sevierville, TN) and dedicated and faithful cousins Rufus Lomax (Knoxville, TN), Etrulia Walker (McCormick, SC) and Payne Family (Albert, Linda and Tierney of Ohio). The family will receive friends from 11:00- 12:00 Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Community Evangelistic Church with funeral service to follow. Pastor Reginald Strong officiating. Interment to follow at Highland South Memorial Park. Services to conclude with full dove release and blanket presentation.
