Hartsell, Juanita Dixon – age 65, of Knoxville, departed this life Saturday, October 25, 2014 in Houston, Texas. She leaves to mourn her passing daughter, Tia Akimmi Dixon; son, Brian Emmanuel Dixon; sister, Shirley Andrews and a host of relatives and friends.

Weaver, Brenda J. – went home to be with Jesus quietly at home on October 24, 2014. Preceded in death by: parents, Joe and Mary Weaver and granddaughter, Amber Weaver. She leaves to cherish her memory:  devoted daughter, Lachelle Weaver; son, Robert Weaver brother, Michael Weaver; sister, Debra Wade; aunt, Dorothy  Hughley; niece, Joshalyn Wade; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; special aunts, Gail Weaver and Magalene Ghosten; special uncle, Alvin Weaver and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins including the Weaver and Hughley family and friends.  Memorial Service will be held Sunday, November 2, 2014 from 4:00 – 5:00 PM with service to follow at 5:00 PM at Unity Mortuary Chapel with Rev. John Ghosten officiating and Rev. Tonja Warren eulogist.

Howard, Emanuel Houston – age 79 departed this life October 21, 2014 at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge, TN. He was born March 20, 1935 to Katherine Garrett and Lenton Marshall of Knoxville, TN. He was preceded in death by sisters, Marjorie Sue Clemons, Barbara Lou Curry; daughter, Amanda Stout; son, Sylvester Blue; grandsons, Emanuel Man Howard, Maurice Booker, Jr.; great-grandsons, William Jason Carter, Jr., Quantaz Maurice Howard and Jacquez Hartsell Howard. He leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Barbara Howard; children, Cheryl Thomas, Darlyne Howard, Betty (Don) Gilmore, Barbara (David) Williams, Valencia Smith, Margie Warren, Vicki Curry, Ralph, Freddie, Francine and Maurice McGhee; step children, Andrena Shondia, Paul and Eric Grimes, Equilla (Danny) Howell; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great- great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends including the Brinson and Clemons family. The family will receive friends Thursday, October 28, 2014 from 1:00 until 2:00 PM with funeral services to follow at Unity Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Larry Brinson officiating. Interment to follow at New Gray Cemetery. Services to conclude with a full dove release. The body may be viewed Monday, from 8:00 AM until 8:00 PM at the chapel. Banks, Thomas L. – of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away October 20, 2014. Mr. Banks retired from Stokes Electrical Company and worked with the City of Knoxville Park and Recreation and the Senior Aide Program. He was a faithful member of Wilder Missionary Baptist Church where he served as the president of the Deacon and Usher Board. He also was a member of the Male Chorus Choir.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Kelly G. Gibson and Jamie DeHart and wife Ophelia Banks; son, Herbert Stapleton; daughter, Virginia Thompson and sister-in-law, Velma Phillips. He leaves to cherish his memory: 3 grandchildren, Valarie Y. Freeman, Shamiyeh (Glenn) Sims and Herbert (Tamuriele) Stapleton, III; 4 great-grandchildren, Shamika (Ebed) McRoy, Glenn Sims, Dominique Sims, Aneesa Stapleton and  family members to include Rev. Tanya ( Rev. Joe) Tolbert, Elizabeth (Robert) Goodloe, Baffin (Octavia) Harper and Ivan (Belinda) Smith, Chyrall White;  devoted friends, Hattie Prysork and family, Steger family, Alex Hale, Wilder Missionary Baptist Church family and Foster Chapel Baptist Church family. Family will receive friends on Saturday, October 25, 2014 from 11:00 until 12:00 Noon with funeral service to follow at 12:00 Noon at Wilder Street Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Johnny Reid officiating, Reverend Dr. Harold Middlebrook eulogist. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery, Sutherland Avenue. Services to conclude with full dove release. The body may be viewed Friday, from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM at Unity Mortuary Chapel. CRIBB, BRENDA SUE JAMES – was born March 3, 1958 and passed away October 19, 2014 to Rosa Lee Cooper James and Edward Willie James, Sr. She was the the fifth child of six children. She graduated from Austin East High School in 1977. She lived the life that she wanted. From there she had 1 son, Kenneth L. James, Sr. who in her own words’ was her pride & joy. She was joined in death by: father, Edward W. James, Sr.; mother, Rosa L. James; nephews, Travor Haslerig and Edward W. James, III; aunt, Mrs. Ollie May Knox. She leaves to cherish her memory: son, Kenneth L. James; grandson, Kenneth, Jr.; granddaughters, Kierrah Patterson and Kendra James; brother, David S. James; 4 sisters, Patricia D. James, Debra A. Harshaw, Belinda Y. (Howard) Moore and Lisandra L. (Edward) Tucker; a host of nieces, nephews and many friends. A gathering of family & friends for a remembrance memorial  will be at the home of her sister, 128 S Vangilder Place, Knoxville, TN 37915 Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 12:00 Noon.

McGhee, Audrey A. – age 75, departed this life peacefully, on Monday, October 6, 2014 at Beverly Park place Healthcare. She was born November 19, 1938 in Mascot, TN. She graduated from Austin High School and Knoxville College. She was a faithful member of Lennon Seney United Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, John B. McGhee, Sr.;  mother, Cora Swaggerty-Young; father, Edward Taylor; brothers, Edgar “Bubba” Johnson and Edward Lee Taylor; sisters, Mary Jane Williams and Joyce Taylor. She is  survived  by daughters, Jacquelyn (Jason) Sharp, Denise McGhee, Knoxville,  Ann Michelle McGhee (Kevin) Ayong, N. Lauderdale, FL.; son, John B. McGhee, Jr., Knoxville; grandsons, Anthony and Shawn McGhee, Knoxville,; granddaughters, Amber and Shawna McGhee, Knoxville, Althea Manges, Knoxville, Azori Ayong, N. Lauderdale, FL.; great- grandsons, Anthony McGhee, Jr., Knoxville, Marcos Barba, Knoxville,; great- granddaughter, A’Miracle Gillispie, Knoxville,; brothers, Henry D. Young,  and Stanley Taylor, Knoxville,;  nieces, Laymen Wilson, Knoxville, Stella Johnson, Brooklyn, NY. and Tonya Cash, Knoxville and a host of cousins and friends. Grave side services will be held at 11:30 AM on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Tennessee Veterans State Cemetery, Lyons View Pike, with full dove release to follow. The family will assemble at Unity Mortuary at 10:30 AM for a procession to the cemetery. The body may be viewed after 5:00 PM on Tuesday, and Wednesday from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM at Unity Mortuary Chapel.
