Barbara Jean Lee, age 74, of Knoxville, departed this life on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at UT Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard D. Lee II; her parents, Cleo Wilson and Willy Thomason; her brothers, Charles and Ronald Wilson; and sister, Marganne Stevevson. She is survived by her sons, Richard D. (Aliceson) Lee III and Jerome (Delbra) Lee; grandchildren: Eunesha Latrice, Keishana, April Jean and La’Ronica Tanise Lee; devoted friends: Mrs. Hatchett, Linda Dalton and Mrs. Terrell Susewell; a host of nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends Saturday, August 25, 2018 from 12-1 PM in the William V. Powell, Jr. Memorial Chapel of Unity Mortuary, with the Celebration of Life Service to follow, with Pastor Lawrence Williams officiating. The final resting place will be at Mount Olive Cemetery immediately following the service. A white dove release will conclude the services.

 

SSG Hiram B. Clark, Sr.

SSG Hiram B. Clark, Sr., born October 14, 1955, departed this life on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Fort Sanders Medical Center. He served his country in the United States Army for 22 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vernita Clark; parents, Herman and Evelyn Clark; and brother, Elmer Clark. He leaved to cherish his memories his children: Romundo “Markeze” (April) Clark, LaToya (Miguel) Gonzales, Vernisha Hampton, Hiram (Brionna) Clark, Jr., and Maurice (Gina) Hampton; seven grandchildren: Markeysha, TreVaughn, Eddie, Eshanna, AaLeah, AaMeah and Enzo; sisters: Felita Hardin and Renita Clark; and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family will assemble at 4119 Ivy Avenue, Knoxville. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 18, 2018 from 12 PM to 1 PM in the William V. Powell, Jr. Memorial Chapel of Unity Mortuary, with the Celebration of Life Service to follow with Pastor Steve Simpson officiating. The final resting place will be on Monday, August 20, 2018 at 2 PM at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery with full military honors following the service. A white dove release will conclude the service.

Preston Littlejohn, Sr., age 69, departed this life on August 7, 2018 at Tennova North Medical Center after a long illness. Preston was loved by many and will truly be missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, great-grandparents and one sister. Survivors include one daughter, Lisa Littlejohn; two sons, Preston Jr. (Vivian) and Jason (Avis) Littlejohn; three sisters, Anna (Tyrone) Steen, Erma (Dennis) Mynatt and Penny Barnes; brother, Jeff (Janice) Littlejohn; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends too numerous to name; and special friend, Robin Jackson (and her grandchildren). The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 14, 2018 from 12 noon to 2 p.m. in the William V. Powell, Jr. Memorial Chapel of Unity Mortuary, with the Celebration of Life service to follow with Rev. Gerald Littlejohn officiating.

Steven Marshall McClure, Sr., of 32, of Knoxville, departed this life to live with Jesus on Thursday, August 2, 2018. Steven was a devoted husband, father, son and brother. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sakina Bryant; older brother, Christian Williams; and best friend, DeAries George. Steven leaves to rejoice in his homegoing his wife, Avery McClure; son, Steven McClure, Jr.; mother: Geraldine McClure; brothers: Jason (Roger) Kilgore and Kibwe McClure; sisters: Jayna McClure, Ashley McClure and Kristina McClure; mother-in-laws: Remy Jones and Desiree Jones; brothers-in-law: Shemar Jones and Zion Jones-Golden; sister-in-law, Brazil Jones-Golden; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 11, 2018 from 11:30 AM to 12 PM, in the William V. Powell, Jr. Memorial Chapel, Unity Mortuary, with the Homegoing Celebration to follow with Pastor Joseph Tolbert officiating.  The final resting place will be at Mount Olive Cemetery following the service. Arnetta Michelle Mickler, “Nana,” age 46, departed this life on Wednesday, July 25, 2018. She was preceded in death by her mother, Catha Legreair; brother, Charles “Chuckie” Legreair; and grandmothers: Arnetta Daisy Dickson and Fannie Mae Hudson. She will be lovingly remembered by her sons: Robert “Jack” and Andrew “Drew”; daughter-in-law, Chanel; grandchildren: Drew and Aneriah; her cherished father, James L. Hudson; sister: Tia (and her children: Ayrial, Tommy Sr., Jaiheli “JJ” and Brett); brothers: PJ Legreair (and children: Whitney, Sierra, Nick, Charlie and Sperry), Richard Legreair (and children: Kyle and Jasmine) and Randall Legreair (and sons: Darious and James); niece, Tiffany Legreair; beloved grandfather, Sam Dickson; aunt, Robin Dickson; uncle, Robert Dickson; close cousin (from the cradle), Stephanie Westfield (and daughters Shay, Nay and Chatt); close friend, Tyronda Young (and son, Deel); and a host of other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 3, 2018 from 12pm-1pm in the William V. Sandra K. Fisher, born August 11, 1946, departed this life on Saturday, July 14, 2018. Shandra was a caring and giving person with the biggest heart. She touched many  hearts and loved many people in her own special way. She gained the love and respect of many. Sandra leaves to cherish her memory her son, Charles Jeffries; daughter, Susan (Rodney) Jeffries; grandchildren: Ashley, Amber (Brent) Shanica, Brian, Thomas (Tina), Josh, Chandra (Demetrius); 12 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews; and godchildren: Sean, Tabatha, Dana, Chris and Tonya; and special friend, Many Flanary. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 from 6-7 PM at Unity Mortuary, 1425 McCalla Avenue. The Celebration of Life service will be on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at the mortuary.

Patricia A. Turner, 63, of Knoxville, departed this life on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at her residence. She is preceded in death by her mother, Willie Turner and brothers: Glenn and Marvin Turner. She is survived by her son, Chantel “Tray” Turner; sisters, Judy and Pam; brother, Scott (Tisha); half-sisters, half-brothers and a sister of Cleveland, Ohio; a host of uncles, aunts, relatives of Calhoun, Georgia; and a very devoted friend, Kim Womble of many years. The family will receive friends from 3 PM to 4 PM on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 in the William V. Powell, Jr. Memorial Chapel of Unity Mortuary, with the Celebration of Life Service to follow at 4 PM, with Rev. Anthony Rodgers officiating.

Deacon Freddie L. Bennett was born June 17, 1944. He went to be with the Lord on June 27, 2018. He was very faithful and active member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, where he was a participant of the Solid Rock of Wisdom Class along with being in the Master Life Classes. He was also a veteran of the US Army. He was previously employed at Alcoa Aluminum Plant. He was a graduate of Austin High School, Class of 1962. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Nina Schealey; father, Quincy Johnson; mother, Fannie R. Bennett; brothers: Robert and James; sisters, Stella B. Malone, Zola Hunt, Darlene Hughes and Barbara Jean Bennett. He leaves to mourn his passing the mother to his children, Cheryl Bennett; sons: Freddie Jr., and Aaron (Christy); daughters: Cynthia Bennett, Lisa (Terry) Wright and Tracie (Talley Dews) Bennett; brothers: Eddie (Marilyn), Charles (Ethel), Ronald, Hester, Danny and Ricky (Leah) Hughes; sisters: Dorothy Jackson and Vickie Hughes; very devoted sister, Joyce Bennett; grandchildren: Ashley, Dexter, Anthony, Michael, Jordan (Rebecca) Baker, Amber (Jasper) Sawyer of California, Brittany, Whitney Love, Terry Jr., Britney (Jordan) Taylor, Jada and Erin Bennett; very devoted friends: Misty Mitchell, Deacon William (Georgia) Pace, Mary Lawrence, Ann Upton, Regina Sanders, Rosalind Battista and Mr. Glenn; many other relatives, friends, nieces, nephews, cousins and his Tabernacle Baptist Church family. The family and friends are assembling at 5812 Holston Drive. The family will receive friends on July 7, 2018 from 11 AM to 12 PM at Tabernacle Baptist Church, with the funeral to follow with Elder Christopher Battle officiating, assisted by Pastor Daryl Arnold and other ministers. The final resting place will be at Berry Highland South Memorial Gardens following the service with military honors. A white dove release will conclude the services.

Ethel Noralee McMillan, “Nanny”, 89, ofKnoxville, went to be with the Lord on June 10, 2018 at NHC Knoxville. She was surrounded by her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, James & Juanita McMillan; children: Mildred, Leroy, Arthur Sr., James & Gregory McMillan. Nanny leaves several loved ones to cherish her memories to include her children: Brenda Upton, very loving and attentive daughter Wanda McMillan, Dexter (Tasha) Sr., David, Dennis and Darrell McMillan; loving grandchildren: Mark Martin, Richard Upton Jr., Dennis, Debrea, Gregory, Tydexstine, Martha, Justus, Mydestine and Meliche McMillan, Bernard (Latasha) Walker, LaTasha King, Roderick (Yolandre) Skinner, Tania Skinner, LeWandra (Erreese) King, Courtney Hill and Octavious Williams, Yolanda (Robert) Brown, Vickie (Joe) Tuft, Leslie Henry, Tamaira, Arthur (Daphne) McMillan, Lora Cameron, Shannon (Duke) Eason, JaMicheal Blair, Arthur W., Kamisha, Teanna McMillan and Milly; a host of great- and great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends too numerous to name.
