Love, Edna B., age 98 passed away Friday, May 31, 2013 at Tennova Healthcare-St. Mary’s. She was born June 24, 1914 to E.J. and Ida Irene Billingsley. She was preceded her in death by parents; two sisters, 1 brother; loving husband, Leba L. Love, Sr.; 2 sons and 1 daughter. She leaves celebrating her homegoing: daughters, M. I. “Sara Frances” Love, devoted daughter, Rosaria (John) Mack; grandchildren, Sorrell, Leroy (Nikitia), Edna Sissy (Rush), Hastie II (Gloria), Penny, devoted grandson, Marcus (Toni); 17 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; devoted friend and Sunday school teacher, Mildred Alexander; a host of other family and friends too numerous to name At the request of Mrs. Love a graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at 12:00 Noon at Sherwood Memorial Gardens on Alcoa Highway. Family will assemble at Unity Mortuary at 11:00 AM and proceed to the cemetery. Services to conclude with full dove release.

Barbara J. Bowman

Bowman, Barbara J. “Bobbie Jean” born in Montgomery, AL on July 15, 1942, received her wings on May 27, 2013 at Ft. Sanders Regional Hospital Knoxville, TN. She was employed in the financial department for Goody’s Family Clothing for many years. She was preceded in death by her mother: Susie L. Turner; uncles, Perry Shugars, Sr. and Herbert “Bubba” Fosters; grandsons, Damion Boyd and C J Debro. She leaves to cherish her memories: sons, Zeste (Valerie) Debro, Melvin Debro, James (Deborah) Bowman and Chris Bowman; daughters, Lisa, Tina Bowman, Tara Phillips; 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; devoted friend more like a sister Evelyn Carter, and members of The Conversations Pit Lounge. Special thanks to Ft. Sanders Select Specialty 4th floor staff. Family will receive friends on Saturday, June 1, 2013 from 12:30 – 1:00 pm with funeral services to follow at Unity Mortuary Chapel. Beatrice Henderson

Henderson, Beatrice of Knoxville, Tennessee entered this life on March 1, 1927. She entered eternal rest Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Ft. Sanders Regional Hospital.”Miss Bea” as she was lovely called was a warm, sweet, loving person. She loved God, life and people. She retired from Ft. Sanders Regional Hospital after 30 years of service.  She was a faithful member of Cherry Street Church of God Sanctified. Preceded in death by parents, and two sons. Left to cherish memories: sons,  Herman Glenn and Michael (Altricia) Glenn of CA, William (Telena) Henderson of MD, Mark (Tamara) Henderson of NC and Brian Henderson of IL; daughters, Shirley Glenn of CA, Paulette (Allen) Flowers  of Knoxville and Janet (John) Young of TX; 23 grandchildren; 39 great-grand-children; 8 great-great-grandchildren; numerous cousins and friends. Family will receive friends on Monday, May 20, 2013 from 12:00 until 1:00 PM with funeral services to follow at Cherry Street Church of God Sanctified. Interment to follow at Mt Olive Cemetery on Maryville Pike. Family will assemble at 701 S. Cherry Street, Knoxville, TN. Services to conclude with full dove release.

Miller, David A. – passed away Saturday, April 26, 2013 at Physicians Regional Medical Center-St. Mary’s. He was born March 17, 1944 in Knoxville, TN to Edward and Leanna Miller. Preceded in death by parents; 3 brothers; 4 sisters. Survivors: devoted wife, Gwendolyn Chaney-Miller; daughters, Yahphette (Marcus) Walton, Shawna Chaney, Felicia (Kurt) Mills; sons, Kwabena and Gary (Lejuan) Miller, and Perry (Whitney) Chaney, Jr.; 7 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter;1 brother, Marvin (Pat) Miller; sister, Charlotte Thompson; several other relatives and special friends too numerous to name. Family will receive friends Thursday, May 2, 2013 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 noon with funeral services to follow at New Vision Church, 1608 Midpark Road, Knoxville, TN 37921 with Dr. Charles Sanderfur officiating. Interment to follow at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, John Sevier Highway with full military honors. Services to conclude with full dove release.  In lieu of flowers donations are to be made to Patria Foster Care Agency at 1610 Midpark Road, Knoxville, TN 37921.

Preceded in death by parents; sons, Kojak and Domonic Lewis; daughter, Terri Lewis; aunt, Margaret Moorehouse; brother, Tommy Lewis. He leaves to cherish his memory: daughters, Katrina, Sharin Wright, Conyers, GA, Tammy and Candi; sons, Maron, Anthony, “DJ”, Montez, Kevin and Broderick; 6 brothers; 4 sisters; companion of 30 years, Sylvia Brown; 23  grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends. Powell, Lonnie Franklin – age 29, went home to the Heavenly Father to receive his wings on April 25, 2013. He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Issac Powell; Grandparents, Rosa Lee Curtis and Dock Curtis Jr.; Frank and Vola Powell; and Great Grandparents, Lonnie and Savannah Johnson. He leaves to cherish the memory of his life: A loving and devoted mother, Geraldine Taylor; stepfather, Paul Taylor Sr.; brother, Michael (DaSheena) Curtis; sisters, Charity Powell and Brandy (Gerald) Pasley; two nieces, Shataya Curtis and Brooklynn Curtis; two nephews, JaVontae’ Lenoir and Micah Curtis; special family friends, Tena Selby and Christina Burns; and a host of cousins and friends. The home going service will be on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church 537 N. Smith, Alberta James – born August 29, 1930 to the late King Solomon and Margaret Walker entered heavens gates April 24, 2013 at Ft. Sanders Hospital. She leaves to cherish her memory, a loving husband, Leroy Smith, Jr.; three sons, Ozel (Tina), Jr.; O’Hara, Sr.; Olanda (Shondrea) James, Ft. Hood, TX; a sister and brother, Ida Walker-Rushton, Detroit, MI and Spence (Cheryl)Walker, Newark, NJ; 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The family will receive friends for viewing on Saturday, May 4, 2013 from 12:00 to 1:00 P.M. with funeral service to follow at Payne Avenue Missionary Baptist Church. Hall, Anthony “Tony” – departed his life on April 23, 2013 at The University of Tennessee Medical Center. He was born on May 8, 1959 to Katherine Hall and the late James Morgan. Preceded in death by father, James Morgan; sister, Antoinette (Cherry Hall). Tony was loved by all who knew him. He enjoyed working and spending time with his crew buddies. Tony was the oldest of six. He leaves to cherish fond memories: wife, Lisa Hall; three daughters, LaShea Hall, Houston, TX, LaTrina Hall, Memphis, TN and LaTempise; grandchildren, Rayne, Briannny, Lela and Terrel; devoted mother, Katherine Hall; brothers,  Reno (Sophia) and John Hall: sisters, Doretha and LaTasha Hall; devoted friend, Tony Hutchenson; other relatives and friends too numerous to name. Special thanks to the Physicians and Nurses of MCC Unit of UT Medical Center and the staff at Laura Manor and Norris Rehabilitation Center. (Diedrea) Allen, Tim Allen, Princess (Eugene) Brown and Charma Allen; nine siblings, eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; a host of family and friends.
