Robin Eugene Moreland

Robin Eugene Moreland – formerly of Knoxville, departed this life on Tuesday April 21, 2015 in Dayton, Ohio. Robin was also known as “Rob Bass” a devoted father, brother, uncle, nephew and friend. Robin is preceded in death by his beautiful mother, Joyce Morelan; his loving grandmother, Helen Williams; niece, Joyvonna Austin. He is survived by his daughter, LaToya Jackson (Jerry Pittman) of Knoxville, TN; fiancée, Ms. Pat; father, Johnny W. Morelan, Sr. (Vivian Riggins) of Atlanta, GA; sisters, Deborah Morelan of Knoxville, TN, Amy Berry (Earnest),  Johndra  Morelan, and Timberly Morelan all of Griffin, GA; brothers, Johnny Morelan Jr. (Felicia) of Nashville, TN, Rico Morelan (Rochelle) of Virginia Beach, VA; aunt, Eloise of GA; uncles, Charles Cook,  Knoxville, TN, Allen Cook, Nashville, TN, Bubba and Fred of GA. Eugene had a host of family and friends who loved him very much, a special thank you to Mrs. Martha Tate, his step-daughter, Aaronika Gary, Telisa Rodgers, and Samantha Williams. The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 2, 2015 from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. at Unity Mortuary Chapel with funeral services to follow at 1:00 p.m. with Minister Anthony Rodgers and Minister Felicia Morelan officiating and eulogy. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery. Services to conclude with full dove release and blanket presentation. Mrs. Iola Spencer Lundy, – age 88, departed her life on April 14, 2015 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 from 12:30 to 1: 00pm with funeral services to follow at 1:00 pm at Mattie E Coleman Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, located at 2537 Selma Ave., Knoxville, Tn. with Reverend DeWayne E. Moore officiating. Interment to immediately follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery. Services to conclude with full dove release. All flowers and condolences should be sent to the funeral home.

Charles T. Allen, Sr.

Charles T. Allen, Sr. – was born November 4, 1930 in Akin, Sc. to the late Bright and Janie Hightower Allen.  He went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Monday, April 13, 2015. Charles received Christ at an early age and rededicated his life on Friday, April 10, 2015. He served in the United States Army for 24 years and worked for the US Postal Service for 30 years. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John (Buck) Allen, William (Goat) Allen; Mrs. Donnie Allen wife and mother of his children; son, Charles T. Allen, Jr.  He leaves to cherish his memories: devoted wife Janice T. Allen; 3 daughters, Ella ( Leon) Partridge,  Marian McAllister, Yvonne Allen; 3 sons, Donald (Willie Jo) Allen, Andrei and Mark (Tara) Allen; 10  grandchildren;  16 great –grandchildren; sister, -in-law, Dorothy Allen, Aiken, SC.; step-children, Shannon, Shaunta (Dewey) Thomas Denny special friends, Earnest (Arzolla) Phillips, Edith Jackson; sisters-in-law, Patricia, Charlotte Thomas, Sharon Dowdell and Delores Cole; brothers-in-law, Robert (Mary) Thomas and Charles Thomas; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends. James Edward Brown, Sr.

James Edward Brown, Sr., age 88 of Knoxville, TN was born April 23, 1926 and went to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, April 12, 2015. Served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Employed with the U.S. Postal Service for 45 years. Preceded in death by parents Edward & Katherine Brown; loving wife, Helen Scott Brown; daughters, Jacqueline Parks and Gwendolyn Brown; son, Gary Brown; granddaughter, Allison McRoy. Survived by: sons, Dr. James (Joy) Brown, Jr. of Columbia, MD, Julian, Jervis (Martha), Charles and Joseph Brown of Knoxville, TN and John (Teresa) Brown of Oak Ridge, TN; daughters, Kathy Brown of Oak Ridge, TN and Nettie Brown of Knoxville, TN; brothers Daniel Brown of Knoxville, TN and  Roy J. (Mardell) Brown of Decatur, GA; sister, Mary (George) Artwell; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 3great-great-grandchildren. Madden, Margretta Jackson was born on July 3, 1933 in Knoxville, TN. She was the oldest of five children born to Roger Jackson, Sr. and Elizabeth Kemp Jackson. God called her home to rest on Friday, April 10, 2015 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. She was preceded in death by: parents; son, Darryl Madden; sister, Marion Gordon. She leaves to cherish her life and memories: loving son, Stanley (Kate) Madden and Rodney Madden; daughter, Deborah (Glynn) Nelson of Atlanta, GA; brothers, Roger Jackson, Jr., Dr. Herman (Frankie) Jackson of Nashville, TN; sister Geraldine (Stanley) Taylor; grandchildren, Shawn Madden of Murfreesboro, TN, Ebony Madden, Catesha Williams, Ashley (Vetonio) Foster, Tremain and Tylan Merkerson, both of Atlanta, GA; great-grandchildren, Jameia and Jayda Madden and Amaria, Zoe and Sasha Foster, Malia Lawson, Makiya Garrett, Timothy Williams, Ayana Porter; other relatives, friends, neighbors and a loving church family. Anthony W. (Tony) Griggs, age 56, of Knoxville, TN, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2015 at his residence in Knoxville, TN. He was preceded in death by his father and mother; 2 aunts and 2 brothers. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Renita (Pooh) Griggs: 2 brothers, Darrell and Sean Griggs; sister, Loretta (Griggs) Coleman and the Coleman family; 2 children, Donta and Cassandrea Griggs; 9 grandchildren, 1 great grandson; 3 stepchildren; several step-grand-children, Tony, had  and loved many more relatives and friends too numerous to name but each of you know who you are. The family will receive friends, Saturday, April 11, 2015 from 12:00-1:00pm at Unity Mortuary Chapel with Homegoing Celebration to follow at 1:00 pm. Morgan; step-mother, Elsie Mack; brothers, John, Alton, and Steve Mack. He leaves to cherish his memory sons, Antwoin, James lll, Johnny, Yarish, Jermaine Mack; daughters, Princess, Fonda, Pam, Rosemary, Tasha, Tomeka Mack; brothers, Terry, Gary, Ivan Mack; sisters, Martha, Cecelia, Willa Mack; sister-in-laws, Dolly, Pat, Rosaria and Shirley Mack; 30 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; a host of  nieces, nephews, relatives and  friends. Allen Taylor, Sr.- peacefully slept away Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Ft. Sanders NHC on Highland Avenue, Knoxville, TN. He was born to the late Mr. John and Mrs. Agnes Taylor, August 1, 1920 in Knoxville, TN. He was the oldest member of Rogers Memorial Baptist Church. He retired from Rohm Haas, past employment he worked at K.O.I.C. Mr. Taylor also served in the United States Army  He was preceded in death by his parent, late wives, Thelma Taylor and Eleanor Moffett Taylor, 1 daughter, Nanette Spencer and brother, Charles Taylor, Sr. He is survived by devoted wife, Virginia Grimes Taylor; 3 sons, Allen Jr. (Arlene), Russell (Angela Edwards), Randell (Eugenia) Taylor; daughter, Fayetta (Rev. Calvin Schofield); former daughter-in-law, Twana Ferguson; nephew, Charles Taylor, Jr.; several grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces, nephews relatives and friends to include special friend Rev. William Pankey; special step-grandson, Christopher Widener and special  thanks to Ft. Sanders NHC Staff. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 6, 2015 at Rogers Memorial Baptist Church from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. with the Homegoing Celebration to follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Michel S. E. Caldwell officiating. The interment will be held Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. at Tennessee Veterans Cemetery Lyons View Pike. Kendale D. Garner – age 18, of Knoxville, Tn., was born February 26, 1997 and passed away on March 12, 2015. He was the youngest of three brothers. He was preceded in death by grandfather, Grady Garner. He leaves to cherish his memories parents, Demetrius Holmes, S r. and Nina Z. Garner (Kent Easterly); brothers, Jamarri Jackson and Demetrius Holmes, Jr.; sister, Alexious Hicks; grandmothers, Marcena Dowdell and Debra Hines; uncles, Dwight Patrick,  Adrianne Holmes and Lucky Clark; aunt, Tamela Edwards; devoted mentor, James Scruggs, III;  devoted big brother, Clarence Tate; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.. The Homegoing Celebration will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2015 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Unity Mortuary Chapel with funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. with General Elder Mae Sutton officiating.
